Good morning all. Got a day off today as in work all day tomorrow but things are calming down at work which is good. My sister has a big pile of old decking from where she now has her conservatory. Fiancé is going round today to fetch it then is planning to make some planters for the base of the garden umbrella, it’s rather unsightly so I think shallow planters made especially will look lovely. He is also talking of a putting bench for me! He is so busy usually he is desperately looking fo things to do.
I ordered some strawberry plants from my local nursery and they look amazing so will plant them at the allotment on Sunday. I know on other threads there has been some dispute over delivery of plants etc but this is a small local nursery my absolute favourite and I want to support them, I got compost too and if necessary will be ordering plants for hanging baskets.
LB hope Lily has fun hunting for imaginary mice and you get your seeds sown. In all this madness it’s the best way to keep things in proportion.
Hello my lovely Rezzer friends. You've all been very kind with your words of comfort over the last few weeks.
Early this morning we received the phone call from Yorkshire we'd been waiting for and FIL died a couple of hours ago - very peaceful and with MIL and BIL by his side.
OH has driven up to be with his mum to help her make the necessary arrangements. It would all be done very differently under 'normal' circumstances but we are where we are and we'll give him a proper send off later in the year .
Thanks again for your support - it's meant a lot.
I'll pop in later but meanwhile I have some boring jobs to get on with.👋
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
TBird . Even though you were expecting your father-in-law to pass away it’s still traumatic. Be kind to yourselves .My thoughts are with you and your family .We are all here for you when you feel like popping in .Lots of love .
Topbird I’m sad to hear of fil. Especially difficult due to self distancing. I hope you andoh are okay and a difficult time for mil. My thoughts are with you.
Oh T'Bird, I am so very sorry to hear that news about your FIL. I realise that it was something you were expecting to hear about at any time but it is still a huge shock for you and your OH. It is lovely that your MIL and BIL were able to be at his side. I wish you and all the family condolences.

Thank you Chive, we are very lucky with our neighbours. They have been extremely kind since OH became ill and now we are both unable to go out it's been a godsend. Must admit I would really like to go out for a walk today, but will just have to pop in the garden for awhile. We have those beautiful woodlands and duck pond literally down the road and can't go there 😣 Still this is week 2......this week seems to have whizzed by. Take care everyone
Good evening to all. T'bird, so sorry to hear about your FIL. My sincere condolences.
The weather is very nice again. I was yesterday at my cottage almost whole day and I'm going tomorrow too. I have a lot to do outside, and tomorrow I'll plant my onion sets. Only 15 kg🤣
How are you all? I hope so that you managed to go out to the garden.
Evening everyone. Hi Ante, keeping my fingers crossed that the weather is kind for you tomorrow. 15Kg is a LOT of onions. Will you have anyone helping you? I think that you might be winning the award again this year. I am looking forward to Gardeners World tonight and then HIGNFY.
