Morning Debs, Ante, LB and Chive and all to follow
Considering how much I did in the garden yesterday, I thought I would sleep well. But tossed and turned most of night. Shoulders and arms ache a bit this morning too. Think I'll have a lazier day today.
Debs, you're not being selfish at all, you've worked hard and deserve some days off. Agree with you, no need to be open Easter weekend......especially as almost all other shops are shut. Let everyone be safe for a few days. Obviously NHS etc  can't,  but others can.
Maybe after all tgis is over we can go back to shops tc not being open 24/7  Might help some get back on their feet. No need for such long hours and being open Sundays. I can vaguely remember shops being shut on Wednesday afternoons too. Perhaps that's what we need......a slower pace in life than before all this crazy time.
Hope your sister is feeling much better Debs.
Take care everyone, stay safe and have a good day.
Weather doesn't look as good as yesterday

Hi all, just on bus almost empty as usual. My sister has now fully recovered but self isolating for full 7 days to be in safe side. I was in car with her last Wednesday and no sign of virus symptoms so hoping that’s a positive sign.
I agree SGL no need for 24 hour shopping if people got themselves organised. They are offering double time for working over Easter but I won’t be volunteering. It’s unnecessary I think we don’t sell anything that will treat Covid 19! I think part of the reason so many doctors and nurses are falling ill is the hours they are working which must weaken their immune system. I only hope there is a definite plan to train up more medical staff when this is all over.
Gorgeous day here hope you all have the same!

Morning everyone . Beautiful morning here .Debs you deserve a rest and time with your family .Chive enjoy your day .Lily I remember those days well .It was a much slower pace of life . Slowing down the pace would help us all get back into the stride of normal life after this virus burns out .
LB ,a day in the garden ?

Morning Chive, SGL and Ruby. SGL, when I was talking with handy brother yesterday, he was telling me that his elderly neighbours had had their letter from the government, advising them that as the male neighbour was vulnerable they had to do the isolation thing like you and your OH have had to do - i.e. separate bedrooms etc. They were quite upset as it is actually impossible for them to do that. They do not have the furniture firstly. They have been being sensible and cautious and handy brother keeps an eye on them but I don't suppose when this blanket letter was sent out that the government thought it might produce an added stress to some elderly people. Their daughter shops for them and leaves their stuff on the front doorstep and they talk to one another through the window.
Debs, so good to hear that your sister has pulled through whatever she had and that she is being sensible about keeping herself safe as well as others. You definitely deserve your Easter! Ruby the garden is beckoning but I'm being lazy at the moment. Time I got my bum in gear and I actually got going on today's list. see you all later.

Good morning.  Lily/Topbird I hope you both have a better nights sleep tonight. Chive best wishes to you clearing the shed, dontgoin the corners.  LB I thought what the Queen had to say was very good and she looked very well indeed.  Debs enjoy your time at home and good sister is feeling better.

Morning! Been up since half seven, didn't sleep much. Think I might go back to bed for a bit. Sowing some sunflowers and tomatoes and a morning glory for outside later.

Morning. Better night's sleep but not brilliant - think today might be a slower, lazier day. I have some seeds to sow and curtains to hem so I might get on with those.

I agree with Rosie and LB about the Queen's address last night. Calm and stoic with very subtle references to WW2 - summoning up the Spirit of the Blitz.

I'd take a chocolate bet that Boris (Get Well Soon!) put her up to it. He is a huge admirer of Churchill (his book about him is well worth a read) and knows that the subtlest of references back to the war will definitely strike a chord with the highly vulnerable older population (over 80's) - many of whom are having to see out this self-isolation by spending weeks on their own. Clever.

Debs - I don't blame you for wanting a break from work. Our local pharmacies have always stayed open over the Easter weekend and just closed on Easter Sunday. However,  most of them are within other shops that are open anyway (Boots, Superdrug, supemarkets etc). Very few stand alone pharmacies here.

Hi all, upsetting news at work that one of our patients who suffered from extreme anxiety and has been extremely worried about the possibility of being arrested for being out of the house without “a letter of permission from the government “ has killed herself. Sadly some people are unable to tell the difference between fact and hysterical fake news!

Debs that is such terribly sad news that she was so distressed in that regard.  Distressing for all who knew her.
