Morning - a bit greyer & cooler than of late. Hoping I can persuade OH to rub down the front of the shed so it’s ready for painting later next week - will be good to get that job jobbed.

Going to do an hour or two in the borders this morning then some indoor jobs this afternoon. Have so many jobs to do - 3 weeks lock down just isn’t enough😉 - was hoping to justify signing up for Netflix but haven’t got time at the moment!

LB - it’s a bit confusing with the changed bank holiday isn’t it? Quite a few places have 75th anniversary VE events planned for that weekend. Not sure they’ll still be able to go ahead. Was there going to be a major event for veterans? That can’t happen now if they’re all self isolating for 12 weeks😟

    Just had a look...

Yes the official VE Day commemorations are not happening in May. They are, however, planning to move them to the weekend of the 15th August and have combined VE and VJ day events.

    That seems very sensible🙂

Morning T'Bird. I'm completely confused now but it is sensible to move it to August. I'm not altogether certain that my re-arranged dental appointment will take place on May 5th either. It did seem a positive thing to do yesterday though!
I've been outside and its time to hug a mug. Its not so warm yet. Put out nesting material for the birds in the special holder I have - probably a bit late for some birds but we'll see if it goes, filled the bird feeders, washed their bath out and ironically I've had to water some pots after these few days of sunshine we've been blessed with. Once my hands have thawed out I'll think about what to do next outside.

Well, it's time for lunch and refreshment. It's pleasant outside and I'll go back after short break.
Interesting program on tv. It's documentary about Lake district and Yorkshire Dale. Lake Windermere, and sheep exhibition on Tan hill.

Hi all just got in from work, busy morning. Fiancé making us bacon sandwiches. He is a bit down as government help won’t apply to us as he has a limited company so it’s time to tighten belts I think. It’s going to be difficult  watching all those hard earned savings disappear but others are worse off and Maisie and step dad are recovering well, which is all that really matters isn’t it? No amount of cash can replace a loved one lost too soon so going to think positive and sow seeds and keep smiling!!

@debs64 Seeds have arrived, thankyou so much! I'll get sowing.

We're still getting our bins emptied.

I think it's going to rain for the first time in a week...
