Afties all. I hope that those under siege by snow have now seen the last of it. I have to say it has been sunny all day so far here but definitely cold. This being confined to barracks is making me buy plants. My bird seed order from the Corn Mill has been despatched so DPD will be letting me know when it is due for delivery. At least I can feed the birds!

Something I want to say to my friends on Rez . This plague that we are living through has made me realise how fragile life is .How important friends and family are .How we should respect and care for each other .I think that TBird said something similar not long ago .We are all living daily with uncertainty (and hope) . I want to thank my friends on Rez who make such a difference to my daily life as we continue to chat and support one another . We are fortunate that we consider one another , cross words are rarely aired on Rez .No cliques or people being mean to one another .
I agree Rubee, I look at other threads but rarely comment as things get heated so quickly. Managed to get some seed compost from Wilkinson and on way back picked up some bits from the allotment, which was unusually quiet. Have set up Grahamwith a much bigger indoor enclosure as it’s too cold for him to go outside.
LB hope brother gets boiler fixed, and that everyone else is warm and safe.
Wise words indeed Ruby and like Debs I completely agree with you. Debs, I'm glad that Graham has a snuggly indoor area for now. You don't want him going back off to sleep again!

Afternoon all. I came home from my cottage. It's a lovely day and I wanted to do something up there but all is covered with snow, (photos later). I'll take a short break now and later I might bake something sweet. Friend sent me this link: http://radio.garden/visit/nottingham/hvBgBof9 When you click on it you will see the globe with green dots. Each dot represent one radio station all over the world, so if you are bored you can listen something new.
Afties Ante. Sorry to hear everything was covered in snow. Please don't forget your friends on Rez when you do your baking That link is just wonderful! I think I'll be going back to that over and over again - just to hear what the rest of the world listens to.
Chive, you don't need to worry. They are just little fun teasers to pass a few moments.
I've just had a telephone call from the lady who lives in the bungalow opposite me. She told me that the three ducks are now sitting on my roof! I did hear them quacking when I went to put some rubbish in the bin but for the life of me I couldn't see where they were. I'm afraid it was supermarket syndrome - anything above my eyeline is generally ignored! 🦆🦆🦆

Evening all - it's been an indoor day here. Very cold with sleet showers interspersed with sunshine. Have done the monthly accounts (for February - bit behind!! 🤭) so glad to get that job out of the way.
Did I tell you that FIL's hospice has now banned all visitors? (since Thurs) but a phone call this morning established that they have an iPad and were happy to help him use it for a brief Facetime call. So, this afternoon we were able to see him for the first time in ages. More importantly, we were able to talk MIL through the process of setting up the hospice as a Facetime contact and she got to spend 5 mins chatting to him and blowing kisses. She was absolutely beaming when she called us back. That visual contact is so important for both of them. With a bit of luck she'll be able to do 5 minutes a day from now on.
The hospice staff have been absolutely brilliant - very caring. He looked clean and comfortable and they've turned his bed round so he can see out of the window and watch the birds in the spring sunshine. I think the family will be making a substantial donation to them when this is all over.
Rubee - you're so right about the need to be kind and caring for one another. The Rezzers all need different levels of support and are struggling with different issues. It doesn't matter whether it's finances, loneliness, frustration or anxiety - we're all here as a group of friends to look out for each other. This is a safe space for anyone feeling down and on their own at this horrible time.
On a really uplifting note - isn't it cheering to see that they've had to suspend the recruitment drive for NHS volunteers because they've been overwhelmed with the response? I've always said that 95% of the population are decent, good and honest people - I rest my case...
Ante - that's a lovely link you've posted. We listen to a lot of internet radio (Radio Swiss Jazz and Radio Swiss Classic are 2 favourites - great music and no adverts!) but your link will introduce us to loads more!
LB - Yippee for Brainiacs / Dingbats. I'm rubbish at them - but I like having a go!😁
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
