Just a quick picture to share with you, bearing in mind it's October tomorrow, just look at the buds on my Blue for You, and there are many more coming though too. Lovely.

My blue for you is a very healthy bush. Just dead headed about ten bunches of spent blossom like that one @D0rdogne_Damsel ,from the second flush, which leaves just two like yours just in bud.😁 It has always done well for me.😁
I think a traditional stumpery has the stumps upside down, @purplerallim - not an option here cos the tree "snapped" back nearly upright once the weight was taken off it. So it's just a chopped-down tree, and not a pretty one... but your idea about temporary disguise, while the rose is growing, is a good one. I'll give it some thought, thanks!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Thanks @Omori. It's a bit intimidating at times and I'm never on top of the weeding, but I'm slowly turning it around. I don't think the previous occupants liked gardening so I'm reviving a garden that hasn't seen much love for about 20years
'Lady of the Lake' still pushing out those blooms (DA star performer for me every year). I couldn't resist photographing a bunch of 'em today, alas I've no vase, so a milk bottle had to do. It's great how the blooms start off almost salmon pink then fade to blush pink then to almost white with age. And the scent is lovely also.
I'm really impressed by English Miss @edhelka . She's been very floriferous even after a transplant and keeps throwing out the flowers. Has suffered a bit from blackspot, but not too much.
