@poppyfield64, beautiful !!! I have that dahlia though i have lost its name, and now I really want this rose!

  • @Pianoplayer the Dahlia is 'Mystic Dreamer' and it is in a pot, although I probably should of used a bigger one as didn't realise how bushy it would get.  For now though it's doing great.

@newbie77 thanks it really is a lovely rose to have.  It's something a bit different and the bees and hoverflies seem to really like it too.

I wouldn't worry about your newish climbers. They really need to get their roots down and growing well before they start growth upwards - patience my friends!

  •  :)  you are right, of course @Lizzie27  I have been quite amused by a couple of postings on the problem thread from people worried about these vigorous red coloured shoots from the base of their roses and whether they should get rid of them - if only!

Every other post on a Facebook rose group I follow is “Is this a sucker!?” and 99% of them are obviously not.

    The petals were

    a) The Generous Gardener
    b) The Ancient Mariner
    c) Eustacia Vye

well done @celcius_kkw - 🏆 No physical prizes sorry!

  • @Tack thanks, I hope it does well too.  You have got yourself some lovely looking roses there.  I notice you have Ebb Tide too.  I haven't been able to decide between Ebb Tide and Twilight Zone so still haven't got either.  Yours has lots of buds too so I will look out for photos when it blooms.

@Omori thank you.  He is a little gem that's for sure.  He not only got the trellis for me but also a lovely bunch of roses.
