My poor Arthur Bell has been hammered by the rain, so some remedial work done. Before After It really likes this spot . Morning to 11am ish sun then shade for rest of day, in full sun it sulked for three years and this is 18 months of growth starting at about 24" tall.
Some really fabulous roses above, despite the weather!
@Treeface, how old are they? If they are new, I tend to find you get an initial show then they settle into growing and take a while to re-bloom. If they are a two or three years old maybe a bit more feed or bigger pot would help - so many variables, weather-related too, it’s difficult to say.
@pitter-patter, love your standard HC, by far the best way to appreciate the nodding blooms I think, plus your Sweet Honey looks delish.
@Katsa, I only have one Delbard at the moment, a young La Rose de Molinard, but their catalogue is a smorgasbord of temptation! LaRdeM is very full and fragrant but hasn’t been in bloom much during the wet weather so can’t really say. I like the look of the rose Delbard pairs with Raymond Blanc, Lalande de Pomerol - https://www.georgesdelbard.com/product/collection-les-epicuriens - but just have Chartreuse de Parme on my list at the mo. Just too many fab looking roses and not enough space!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@pitter-patter Agree with Nollie - Sweet Honey looks lovely. 2020 rose of the year, apparently! May I ask where you got it and how old it is? It looks very healthy and robust.
How lovely everyone is out in the garden again, including me. New roses are treating me, I am just in love with the Charles Darwin scent every time I walk up and down my path
Teasing Georgia has a scent getting better and withstood the rain too
My first Rhapdody in Blue makes me happy
As do Ghislaine de Feligonde and Wollerton Old Hall looking this promising
Ouch @AlliumPurpleSensation glad the roses are ok though. If it's Verbena Bonariensis it will be fine. Mine is as happy flowering flat and kinked on the ground as it is upright.
...nice to see Charles Darwin with upright blooms... I've recently planted one..
..just to say about 'William Baffin'... I had this one back around 1990 and it's quite a large thorny, rather monstrous shrub rose/climber, I had it on an arch, and it was very wayward and wide spreading... not suited for that purpose... you will have your work cut out to keep it in a pot... I can't recall if it rebloomed much, I don't think it did .. it's a rose best trained against a fence with support, so it can spread itself outwards... and in an arching fashion.. so best of luck with that..
I was disappointed with Chares Darwin fragrance last year. I have to check it this year but the two blooms I've had so far were badly affected by the rain.

It really seems to be standing up to the rain and random weather much better than the other roses. Will definitely invest in another!
Are the other delbard roses of similar disposition?

I'm now covered in scratches feet, elbows, legs, hands, luckily avoided my face and didn't land directly on any of the roses.
Squished my verbena though
