I am an oldie and I sure get it . I am old enough to remember the Asian flu . Nearly everyone where I lived got the virus, several died .
Me too, but didn’t personally know anyone who died, but did from the Hong Kong flu that came next.

Already been reports here in Scotland that the Ben Nevis park had to turn away 30 campervans of people coming to 'self-isolate'. Report from Mull I think that tourist busses were still turning up and the tourists stripping the shops of food! before departing on bus home.
    Unbelievable...…….

I’ve not seen this asked on coronavirus FAQ pages so can anybody assist? I sometimes wear lightweight fleece gloves when I have to be out of the house to afford a modicum of protection. If the gloves are left in my jacket pocket or in the car will any harmful viruses on them die within two or three days? Would the same answer apply to latex gloves?

Would blitzing them in the microwave destroy the virus? If so, for how long? Or is using the microwave for this ill advisable?

    Thanks.

Unfortunately it's a bit difficult to say how long it lasts on clothes its somewhere between 24 and 72 hours they think.  Disposable gloves are a better idea they are used and thrown away. Anything used outside where others go should be removed before going far into your home, and remain there or be washed.

@hogweed- just like the clowns homing in on beaches in Australia, and the same over here, as seen in the pic that @punkdoc posted.
    Is it Darwinism at work?
If the weather gets back to normal - ie rain, maybe that'll help. Once the midges start they won't be so keen either   :D

The early school holidays will see a lot more of that I reckon. I  just hope we don't see the inevitable rise of teenagers at home alone while parents work, but becoming even more feral than usual.

I live on the Yorkshire Coast and I have heard reports it was like a Bank Holiday Weekend on the Beach.

I have seen pictures of a cafe on the beach with chairs outside and people stood drinking alcohol in glasses and hot drinks in mugs. What part of take away only do they not understand (or because they are stood outside is that take away?) It was heaving too.

I for one, when this is over will not be supporting that business and any other who decided to break the rules and decide not to keep people safe.

I notice that Sainsbury’s is offering a ‘golden hour’ for NHS staff ALONGSIDE the vulnerable/elderly group. THIS IS NOT WISE. I will contact Sainsbury’s to ask them NOT to do this. It is these two groups who should NOT mix currently. I am not being alarmist, but us NHS workers are probably coated in virus, even with no symptoms. Who decided this??
They’ve now changed it to separate sessions following feedback from you and many others 👍🏻

Well the self isolating won't work until those of us who need to don't have to keep going out looking for milk and surface antibacterial wipes! There had been no milk for a week and the wipes for a month. As there is only hubby and I one of us, and it's the hubby who drives so him, have to keep going to look for some putting us both in danger. The next delivery is 6th April and the milk won't last past this week that we have on hand.🙄
