I'm not convinced that it would be a good use of NHS resources to do covid tests on deceased persons. It would probably inflate the numbers by producing positive results in asymptomatic people who died of something else. If covid (or flu) was what killed them then surely that would be already known - don't they still test people whose symptoms are bad enough for them to be in hospital with it?

@Nanny Beach & @star gaze lily, I am sorry to read about your COVID encounters recently. I hope you are both feeling alot better or feel you might be getting there. 😊
I am interested to know, did you find your symptoms in line with any that were published as 'to be expected' or did you find your body reacting in other more unexpected ways? For instance, did it affect any 'weak points' in your body that you may have? Do you feel you are in the recovery stage or post-covid or something else?

Clematisdorset, I had every single symptom mentioned online these days (happy to provide them if required) but the very first symptom was....I could not sleep at all. I know my hubby does believe me when I say that, but I worked nights for the last 30 years of my working life. I know!!! We had just got a puppy, I was getting up twice in the night to take her out for "toilet duties". I used to go to bed at 11 or 12. I was tired! In bed by 10, after already nodding off in the sofa. I didn't nod off, went to bed and couldn't sleep at all. The law of sod.... she slept till 6.30, she hasn't done it since! As well as the physical symptoms, I was agitated,I couldn't keep still, again hardly slept. Friends in my sort of age group late 60s early 70s, said that they did nothing but sleep! I'm in the Covidence study (5 years) with Queen Mary's university London, just done my latest survey. It now lists, both agitation and insomnia. The aches pains, have gone, but I can't walk very far or do the things I could. "Weak points", I have read it affects you more if you have a health problem from the "list", hubby has hypertension and I have a tumour.
Thankyou so much @Nanny Beach - yes please, would you mind - I have lost track of the official symptoms. I am so sorry you had every symptom going, plus insomnia and agitation.
That is horrible not being able to sleep and yet really needing to! I am glad the pains/aches have gone, but it sounds like it has definitely been more than a sniffle/cold...
I had not heard of the Covidence study, so I will look that one up - thank you very much and it is thank you to people like you who enrol onto these studies that the rest of the population should benefit from the findings. 😊
Is the 'list' the list of people deemed 'more vulnerable' to COVID?
Would you say your experience meant you guessed that it was COVID early into your symptoms?
I hope you have a good recovery and can get back to doing things as before. 💐

@clematisdorset I sincerely hope you are not serious when you ask @Nanny Beach to list every symptom. They are available on line and she said she experienced every one of them.

@clematisdorset , hello , you can find the symptoms on the NHS web site When I got Covid , I had all the symptoms except being sick , they only lasted for half day or less , then on to the next one , when they stopped I was shattered for about a week
Yes, it was every "classic symptom" now notified online. The study I am participating in is : Covidence study: professor of respiratory medicine Adrian Martineau, Queen Mary's university London,a five year study. I am not sure if you can see the webinars that we the participants obtain, you can try. Definitely NOT a sniffle,it completely wiped me out for 2 weeks. Again online is a big list of health issues that make getting Covid far worse. I was diagnosed with an adrenal gland tumour in may.
I am so sorry to hear you had COVID, @GWRS, and thank you so much for letting me know about the NHS website list and how you experienced the symptoms - not all at once etc.
I was not sure where the latest symptoms were being listed, as when I looked last year, the NHS general website did not always have the latest symptoms because they kept changing with all the different variants.
I hope you are on the mend. 💐

I would trust her list because of her background and training in the relevant area.
If you have access to a list, please feel free to post it.
I know there are all kinds of lists online and some of them are very cursory!
She was saying her symptoms included all those that are officially listed., unless I am mistaken!
