Well if it's karma Dove,I'm waiting a long time for my rewards. That is a joke, before I get accused of doing things for reward! I have always been a good hardworking person, putting others first, used to get told off at work for my empathy and sympathy.....mind you the patients loved me!! I never downed tools and walked out at the end of a shift,if I was in the middle of doing something. Her colleagues say she's brilliant, just gets on with it.
Then she’s got used to using you and taking you for granted … it’s up to you to change the dynamic of your relationship… it’ll probably take a while … sounds as if her behaviour is well established … you’ll have to be firm and clear … tough love 😉

Yes Boss! I have been making progress. I now decide where we go, because it's my car/fuel etc. We do take "turns" in paying for coffee or booze. I said I had had a cider in the last week, along with my weekly bottle of wine (yes, just the one,1 glass X3 nights) so was only having coffee this week, she wasn't happy.
For what it is worth, several local hospitals have moved to treating emergencies only, due to the numbers of staff off sick with COVID and the increased number of beds filled with COVID patients.

That's worrying @punkdoc . My mum is booked in for surgery later this this month at the Northern General - not an emergency but should make her a lot more comfortable, and she's been waiting quite a while for it.

They will continue to prioritise urgent and long waiting cases, where possible, but I agree that it is very worrying. I must admit, I thought the worst was over.

Father in Law's eye surgery has been postponed due to the doctor being off sick.
They're already operating out of a tent in the carpark to reduce waiting lists so this won't be helping things. The pressure on staff must be terrible.
Off for my flu jab this morning.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
I was just heading out the door to go for my jab and the pharmacy rang to say they're not doing jabs today because they've got a locum pharmacist in and she's not qualified to give jobs. They said they're fully booked for a month and told me to sod off somewhere else. I'm not going to judge but after all the rush to get as many people as possible giving flu and covid jabs I would have thought the locum would have done the training but I guess this shows how the job pressures aren't allowing people time for effective CPD.
