What do people think about the doctor arguing that immunity from having the virus is as effective as immunity from a vaccine? Are we really going to sack many of our trained healthcare professionals for making up their own minds? Are we not in enough trouble?

I am not knowledgeable enough to think anything but Imperial College thinks that past infection gives only 19% protection against omicron.

Who is “the doctor” you refer to? Frankly, if I had any say in the matter I would not want to be treated by an unvaccinated healthcare worker. Not to be vaccinated seems such an unprofessional stance I do not think such people should be allowed professional standing. Get vaccinated or get another job.

It may be as good … although my understanding is that the length of time it lasts is very variable.  But my reasoning is, what is stopping him having the vaccination as well? Vaccination resistance by medics just fuels the anti-vaxxers’ claptrap of there being something dangerous about the vaccine. 😠

The doctor in question is clearly highly educated and knowledgeable and his argument is that the vaccine is unnecessary not dangerous. @BenCotto  cannot believe you missed this it’s all over the news.
I don’t understand why it has now become acceptable to discriminate against someone because of their beliefs?
The vaccine doesn’t stop you getting covid and it doesn’t stop you infecting others with covid there is an argument that it makes you less unwell if you catch covid. The vaccine therefore is only of benefit to those having it it’s not “protecting others “

@punkdoc  👍 It really concerns me that there are people in seemingly responsible jobs who appear to have very little grasp of the basics and are not prepared to take the word of the very experienced and knowledgeable folk that do. 🤯.

At least it proves the Peter Principle as a verifiable fact 🙄

How does it protect others when so many vaccinated people are catching covid? Myself and fiancé included. In fact almost everyone I know who has had covid had it after being vaccinated.
I don’t “spout “ by the way. I write down my opinion which is different to yours but the same as many others.

I said it on the 1st of January @B3. Lots of others have said it.
