Had my booster this morning. So far so good. This pm I drove Possum to La Roche to give blood and raided a local SM while she did. Everyone in there masked and distancing tho I didn't see hand gel or trolley disinfectants like in my usual SM.
While we were on we raided 2 fabric shops and a sports shop for supplies and prezzies. Again, everyone masked and distancing and hand gels at the entrances. No fuss anywhere.

There should be a sign by the door telling people under no circumstances should they touch their mask then touch anything else in the shop. people forever pushing them up, down under the chin, off altogether, then touching trollers, shelves and goods. Masks probably spread it as much as contact. But, on the other hand, if you touch something infected and don’t put your fingers in your mouth, up your nose or in you’re eyes you’ll probably be ok.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
We have been wearing masks out since last year, and I’m still quarantining the shopping for three days, and washing or disinfecting anything that can’t be left that long. I’m quite comfortable with that regime, and used to it now. I’ve noticed the reduction in mask wearing in shops, so I’ll be happy to see more precautions being taken.
I haven't stopped wearing a mask and have been limiting the amount of socializing and shopping etc I do anyway. I thought it was pretty foolish to announce "freedom day" and do away with most precautions anyway. Some people have a real problem with wearing masks etc but it's such a minor imposition. I truly don't understand what their problem is.
This, 100 times over. I, too, have no idea why such a small measure is so controversial. So what, someone has to pop on a face covering to go into a shop for 10 mins?? And this is a problem why???* Am equally baffled as you, @Mander.

Obelixx, you raided a supermarket, two fabric stores and a sports shop! Have you, by any chance, cut eyeholes in your mask and been wearing it like a bandit?

Having worn masks for work for years, I can sympathise with those that find breathing less comfortable with one on. I used to find I was breathing through my mouth to compensate. If I spend too long in a shop, I do occasionally find the mask making me feel quite hot and bothered. However that’s no excuse for failure to comply for everyone’s benefit. They have to find a way to work round it, not just give up and compromise their own and others safety.
