I don't believe it, our wonderful government are asking JCB to start making ventilators. ICU ventilators are very complex, both to make and to use, it aint possible.
Due to be meeting Edward Argar and Christopher Wormald tomorrow, could be very interesting.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
I am in a quandary. I'm 68, OH is 78. He lives in England, I live in France. Since we met we travel between the two. We are in England at the moment, due to fly back to France on Tuesday. I have two elderly horses in France. A house sitter is caring for them until Tuesday. If we go to France on Tuesday together I can care for OH and the horses. The house is isolated in the country, has 2 freezers and a larder full of tinned food. If I go without OH then what will he do if he has to self isolate on his own in England? When will I be able to return to England if flights stop? I can arrange for the horses to go to livery. OH is worried as he has a hip replacement arranged in England on 31st July. If he comes to France with me will he be able to get back for it? I wonder if it will be postponed anyway. I have to go to France because of the horses. I have to be with OH as he is vulnerable. Should he travel? Should he stay here on his own?

If it were me, @Busy-Lizzie I think you should both go to France. I think the chance of him getting his op. in July is quite slim. I do think you should try and stay together.

I agree with that Lizzie, I’ve just spoken to my cousin in Norfolk there are three confirmed cases in the hospital, I think you would be better shutting yourselves in your home in France.

Oh @Busy-Lizzie, that's an impossible dilemma. I think you may well find that flights to France will be cancelled by Tuesday so at the moment I would sit tight. Would you feel able to drive back alone if you had to? Could you get the livery people to collect the horses from the house sitter? Is there anybody who could assist your OH if need be whilst you are away. Personally I would think very hard about travelling anywhere for the next six months or more.
Thank you all. @punkdoc I felt relieved by your reply as it's what I felt was best. I can't drive back, my car is in France and OH has an old banger in Norfolk. All our Norfolk friends are over 70, but there is "Next Door". The flight on Tuesday is still scheduled, no flight tomorrow as still on winter timetable.

Busy-Lizzie, I can relate to your dilemma. My Hubby is currently being treated for prostate cancer, so I don’t want him mixing with people. Today I left him at home while I went food shopping, but I’ll turn 80 in June, so I’m in the age range they are warning us about. 😳🤯
Oh my goodness, so many people with so many different, but all heartbreaking, situations to deal with, health, financial, travel, caring for others ... It's totally beyond comprehension. Watching the news last night felt like watching a disaster movie, didn't feel real ...
Can I ask a genuine question...? My 85yo Mum, very poor health, lives next door to me. If she catches C19, she won't be going to hospital, and probably won't survive. She accepts this (tremendous faith, and limited and painful life atm). How is the best way I can care for her at home? She has oral morphine (small dose) on prescription for pain, I have told her not to make sure she doesn't run out... Anything else...?

Let's see what tomorrow brings.
luckily, I’m fairly healthy, so fingers crossed.
