If it’s in the air around you, particularly indoors, 2 metres or a basic mask won’t help.
It only takes one shopping trip, a meeting in an office or a shared journey or meal etc.
I think we can worry less about becoming seriously ill if we have been (double) vaccinated and then catch the virus ‘these days’ but this variant seems to be very rampant doesn’t it.
It does seem that way but as long as the hospitalisations/deaths don't rise too much, the number of infections is immaterial surely? The media/government does like to try to scare us silly.
It's worrying how the disastrous communications from the government have caused a proper slow down on vaccination rates. Having "freedom day" coming up it could have been used as a good push to increase them but another missed opportunity and far from "world beating" it took Macron one TV appearance last night in France for them to have a million citizens book a vaccination...
This is now a disease that can be prevented or at the very least be minimized by getting a vaccine. In the US we now have surplus due to people being afraid to take the vaccine
Headlines say there are 10 children in Mississippi on ventilators with the Delta variant, 12 total in ICU just in that state. And my very own state of Utah is number 5 in the nation with new cases. But no one is wearing masks, as far as I can see in my limited necessary trips out. The mask mandate is over, so I suppose it's not a surprise. Everyone 12+ who wants a vaccine will have had both their shots and max immunity by now.
It all looks like a complete farce to me - or have I missed something? Also, how do you get from the airport to home whilst isolating? Get yourself home on public transport, pick up a bit of shopping, arrive home and isolate - or not.
