They won't know for a while until they've had time to study all the death certificates which will state the official and main cause of death.

Lord Bath of Longleat has also died. Does anybody remember going to Longleat when they first opened?

Perfect storm here.  Sister has been being treated for ovarian cancer for over a year so is now in 12-week complete lockdown with partner in her flat.  My niece (her daughter) was rushed into hospital yeterday with suspected appendicitis but was scanned quickly only to show swollen ovaries..  Poor thing is not allowed any company or visitors of course.  More tests and scans being rushed through today.  Nieces schoolage daughter is being looked after by her partner who is (luckily) working from home.  Both OH and I had cold (runny nose & chesty cough) symptoms last week so without testing have no idea whether we are infected or not so wouldn't be able to help even if we could (which we can't!)

A doctor stated that if a patient is suffering from Covid 19 at the time of death they will in good faith note cause of death as Covid 19, the only other way would be to have an post-mortem.

@BobTheGardener ooooh not easy for your lot ((hugs))

@barry island but can it be said with certainty that they have Covid 19 without a test?
Are death certificates saying that CoD was Covid without a test?

Neither of my Aged Ps had a PM ... the GP knew what was wrong with them ... with Pa he was just worn out (95 with COPD) and of course it was obvious what was wrong with Ma ...... but if she'd also had symptoms of Covid as well what would they have put her down as ........ purely hypothetical of course .....

It has been reported that a tiger in a zoo has Coronavirus.  Who got close enough to give it to him, and who was the lucky soul to go" Open wide, I need a swab"?

It seems its true about the big cat in America,  and they are now wondering if cats should stay home to stay away from getting infected.
It was also true about the Hong Kong Pomeranian getting it from its owner ( supposedly from kissing it)

Some  Veterinary College in US are still not sure whether it can live on dog hair, not for long, but if someone strokes your dog, and then you do.....    they advise washing hands after stroking the dog.

I'd advise not letting people get close enough to touch the dog, to be honest. We're not letting ours off lead and the lead is less than 2m long therefore if you're close enough to stroke the dog you're too close to me.

It's more these wandering cats going through everyone's garden, could be putting virus on surfaces we then touch, or their faeces in soil we garden in that would cause more of a problem.
