    In section 1.1:

    You cannot:

    • visit friends and family inside their homes
    • stay overnight away from your own home, except for in a limited set of circumstances, such as for work purposes
    • exercise in an indoor sports court, gym or leisure centre, or go swimming in a public pool
    • use an outdoor gym or playground
    • gather outdoors in a group of more than six (excluding members of your own household)

But I can't see where the 'limited circumstances are listed'.

I understand it's limited to unavoidable overnight stays for work purposes, for funerals of close relatives when there's no alternative i.e. you can't travel there and back in one day and possibly other emergencies, although that's not clarified. I would presume that means emergencies such as a life threatening accident to close relatives including a child, vulnerable or disabled person.

There are nurses and doctors who are staying in hotels and not living with their families, in order to keep their families safe. Some hotel chains are donating the rooms.

There are also some carers staying in campervans rather than go home from working in care homes etc. There were reports of one carer in Cornwall who was being harassed because of this until police confirmed her reasons and gave her the ok. Apparently there are quite a few doing it but being mistaken for holidaymakers.

Quite a few are holiday makers. They are the ones who are using the sand dunes as toilets! 💩 My cousins in Norfolk say there are loads of people coming to their holiday homes. After all, you have always been allowed to drive 250 + miles to isolate so if you've got accommodation you can now go anywhere. Or so it seems.

....thanks....so I guess no one knows? I wasn't making a Cummings comment or commenting on protests, just a question on 'what are the rules'. It seems that irrespective of symptoms, the travel is the critical part - ie it isn't only people who exhibit symptoms who should isolate. Travel with overnight stay being prohibited is the main rule.
To me, I always thought that if you 'travelled' and then stayed at the destination, you would have to isolate anyway - in the past that would have been 7 days for a single person (14 if multiple people at the destination). So I assumed that a round trip - for a single person would be:
    travel->isolate 7 days->stay at location->return->isolate 7 days
...and 14 days if families involved...however, the newer foreign travel rules appear to increase the isolation period for that to 14 days, even for singles - but that doesn't come in until next week.
So if someone breaks, or has to break the 'do not travel with overnight stay' rule in the UK, what rule applies then? None?

Flu’s over now it seems , BBC are not going to  talk about it much anymore due to lack of interest, do what you like Steve, but stay alert.🙂
Economy has got to get back on track, so it’s every man for himself, if you don’t want to risk anything, then don’t.

There are enough beds should you need one, the jobs done, slowed down the infection rate, so saved face with a grossly underfunded NHS, all will be well. 😱

They're  saying you can walk around shops now, that’s so you can spend your money but don’t go in your relations houses because that may lead to more infections.  They’ll take that risk of mixing in shops.

Just meet your family in the shops.

Hello all, just wanted to update you on my sons progress, after his long haul in hospital. He was discharged yesterday. He is still very much lacking in puff, and he has a loop heart monitor fitted. I wasn't best pleased when they said he could go home as we have an added complication that his wife has now been diagnosed with breast cancer and is due for her op in a couple of weeks. This means that the whole household must self isolate for two weeks before and after her op. I think the reasoning behind him going home was that he would be better of mentally going home than in rehab.
We can only hope that it will all work out well and that they are all very careful, as my son cannot get another infection.
    Stay safe all.

Sending my very best wishes to your son and his wife, @floralies.  They have such a lot to bear at the moment.  Thank you for the update - a lot of us have been thinking about him, and you, and wishing the family well.   :)
