Sorry that sounded vain, I wear the visor at work and am dealing with the public so need to look presentable.
I am aware that visors are less effective than masks worn correctly but as nobody is wearing their mask correctly it is really just a box ticking exercise. I find it very difficult to wear a mask for 8 hours at a time. I therefore fiddle with it and move it constantly as does everyone else at work making it pointless.
We have all have to get better at wearing face coverings, clearly you and colleagues need to find one that is comfortable for the whole 8hrs. It has taken me a few attempts but it's such a personal comfort issue it will take us all a few attempts to find one that's right. I get so frustrated with the way people keep their masks in pockets or under their chins...all it take for hygienic carrying is a zip lock bag, simple and cheap. And of course with the constant touching of them while on.
We are encouraged to wear something very similar to this on site at work - they don't last long. They get dirty quickly meaning you can't see - very dangerous. They fog up & if you're a glasses wearer like me alters your visual perception somewhat - also dangerous. And if it's very windy & raining - well, you can imagine. Nice idea by a H&S "advisor" sat at home on his laptop who will never have to wear one in anger - nice idea, poorly executed - as usual.
And as a French doctor said early on, the discomfort of wearing a mask is nothing in comparison to the discomfort of wearing a ventilator. It's as simple as that.
I've said it before, but I will repeat, a visor by itself is pretty useless. This has been repeated endlessly by many experts.
I am disappointed that some people think so little of doctors, that they think we might collude with Boris, if he was not genuinely ill. Knowing someone who looked after him, I can confirm he was ill, actually very ill. [ I am no fan of the man, or his politics ]
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
If the government suggested we all carry a large spider on our heads to prevent Covid I doubt people would tell us to “find one we are comfortable with”.
I struggle with anything covering my nose and mouth for personal reasons and frankly would prefer the spider!
Masks are clearly not working as cases are up again and work is difficult enough at the moment without factoring in anxiety attacks.
Obviously if you are happy wearing a mask do so but please don’t judge others who may have issues you know nothing about. This is not directed at anyone personally on this forum just something to think about.
If you have 'emotional difficulties' wearing a mask ( ) you can download something from the MIND website and keep it about your person. I know about this because a bunch of Covidiots came sat directly across from me on a train (causing me to move to another part of the otherwise completely empty carriage) and were going on about it, in between teasing their mask-wearing friend by making 'Baaa!' noises.
