It's odd how it works and seems to be a postcode lottery. My old bro and sis are both older than me, but as soon as I hit 65, I was offered the pneumonia jab. My bro and sis, 20 miles away in Brighton and Hassocks, hadn't heard of it. While I was having the pneumonia jab, the nurse said my next jab was the shingles one - but I thought they said when you hit 70 or some such. Sods law, as I developed shingles a couple of years back.
I developed shingles on my back at age 57 during a stressful period after my father died. Man, do they hurt not only when they first erupt, but my residual nerve pain lasted 12 weeks beyond (which can happen in some people). Got the older, only-available shingles vaccine 6 months later as was recommended by my doctor. No problems since. The newer shingles vax is a two-jab affair. My doc said if it were she, she would not get the newer one as I probably was getting adequate protection off the older version.
She made the same recommendation on the newer Prevnar13 pneumonia vax. I had the older once-in-a-lifetime pneumonia jab. She thinks I'm protected there as well and said she wouldn't bother with the newer vax unless I just felt I needed to.
Given all the current adverse reaction claims on so many of the older as well as Covid vaccines out there, I think I'll just take her advice on the "newer, so-called better" Shingles and Pneumonia shots. Personally, I don't plan to take ANY of the COVID vaccines either, until forced to at gunpoint, because I don't think they are vaccines at all. They are DNA modification human experiments needed to support a long-planned political agenda. Just my opinion, but I digress and will stop there.

Good grief! How widespread in USA is this belief? I know we have a nub of alternative truth supporters over here who, occasionally, emerge blinking from their rabbit holes but I do get the sense that in America acceptance of such arguments is more mainstream. It worries me.
That’s nothing! My stepson reads an American site, it’s spread around that the COVID vaccine will cause the young men to become sterile. Now wouldn’t that be a good idea.
