So very sorry to hear your sad news, @LG_
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

@LG_ very sad to hear of the loss of your brother.
All I can say is that I hope the pain at this difficult time, and beyond, can be soothed with some thoughts of happier memories that you have of him.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

My son is very poorly on a ventilator in the Royal Surrey Hospital. He was so scared when I spoke to him before he went on it. Such a dreadful virus.

It's been a while since I posted on the forums but would also like to offer my condolences to LG for your loss, it brings home the reality of this pandemic and the human cost. Also floralies my thoughts are with your son, I sincerely hope the best for him.

In relation to earlier posts where people think they may have had the virus at the end of last year, I believe that to be highly likely. A recent mathematical model by Imperial College London estimates that in 11 European countries including the UK, between 1.88% and 11.43% have been infected up to 28th March. That's between 7 and 43 million people. Of course this is way higher than the confirmed cases and if accurate would indicate a case/fatality rate to be far lower than the currently estimated figures.

Having said all that, statistics are little comfort in such troubled times. My wife is being shielded upstairs due to being immuno compromised with underlying health problems. So we keep washing hands and hoping.
