    That is a powerful image.

@Floralies - I have been doing our weekly shop at Leclerc with no problems at all.  They've gone thru the whole range of shorter hours and restricted numbers at any one time to longer hours and no limits on numbers, all the while with disinfected trolleys, gel dispensers, screens for cashiers, masks for staff, plastic bags for handling veg, and constant announcements about safety and distancing.   Customers have behaved too.

On the other hand, OH went out to Boulanger in La Roche to get a new filter for our modem 4 weeks ago, his first excursion since lockdown, and was horrified by people ignoring direction signs and distancing measures   Guess I'll be shopping on my own for a while then.

@Lyn - those masks with a seam up the nose can be uncomfortable and the replaceable filter opening is a pain.   I prefer my original 3 fixed layer masks and steam them to clean them - very quick and effective and doesn't destroy the elastic.   My next batch will have ties round the back of the head tho as the elastic versions make my ears itch on hot days.

My post should have read neighbour said "people ARENT allowed to use your toilet", she has since apologised!  Went shopping in large Tesco yesterday, following arrows, even up the aisles where we dont need anything (ie baby stuff) keeping distance, then young black male coming the opposite way to the arrows, picking up stuff, touching, and almost touching me, in view of the light of the racist stuff going on, felt I didnt dare say anything.  His ethnicity and sex make him very vulnerable to the virus.  Ironically, there were staff patrolling each end of the aisles to make sure people were complying, but none at this moment.  I doubt if they would have said anything to him either.

@Obelixx this was at or local Leclerc. When OH was doing the shopping during lockdown he said it was well organised with the same measures as you say in yours, but now it seems they have relaxed everything apart from the screens at the checkouts and staff wearing masks. There was a spray hand sanitizer on a table by the door if you wanted to use it. No social distancing especially around the fruit and veg and groups of people having a chat, blocking the way.
We are off to do a shop shortly, I will take a long cane with me to use as a prod.  :D
  • I've just been to aldi to do a weekly shop and again I was one of only about 3 people in a mask. I think even if it's not proven to help,it helped me remember that the virus hasn't gone away it's still out there.but I only wear it in a shop.

Ours has a bank of sanitizer dispensers at the entrance and reminders every 10 or 15 minutes about distancing.  They now also supply wee plastic bags with hand prints on them and ask people to wear one to select their loose veg.   I use the one at Luçon and it's been fine so far in terms of spacing with just one or two being stoopid however OH popped into the one at La Roche on his way home from Boulanger and there were more people and lots of hustle and bustle.  He was horrified.

I can get him to France Rural for compost and garden bits and bobs but not an SM and we both wear our masks for every excursion.

First trip to Wickes since the lockdown started.

Followed system to get in, followed arrows all around shop to get to where I wanted.

Bloke walked straight past me ignoring arrow system.

Got into checkout queue with social distancing marks on floor. In queue of ten people, all respecting the distancing.

Then felt someone brush against my arm from behind, woman pushed her way right along the queue of people waiting which had no space for two people.

How long has it been now for the idea to sink in of a 2 meter distancing?

Left completely bemused by her behaviour and wondered why we bothered staying at home for months.
