The Russian model looks interesting. Very much 'Get back to work, if you die you die'. :/
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • My mum cant leave my dad as he has dementia and cannot be left alone.i am going thru hell at the moment and wonder if either of them will get thru the next week let alone till I can get in their house.

@the tidy gardener , you and your mum need extra help at the moment. Look on your authority webpage and there should be a link to local volunteer/help groups. Just get in touch with one of them and explain your situation. If there's no joy there, phone your Mum's GP and leave a message for an urgent callback. Hope this helps. Post again if it doesn't and we'll try to help. It will help your Mum to see you every day, even if you just sit/stand in their garden and that is allowable.

  • Thanks lizzie.shes chomping at the bit to get out and who can blame her?I did her grocery shopping this morning and she was thrilled.but it didnt last long.after she heard what boris said last night they went for a drive to a local garden centre!and yes!its still closed!! But one gate was open so they went in.(they do click and collect)and the man there sold them some compost.he shouldve refused them .I'd already given them some of mine.my dad keeps digging holes on the lawn then filling them in....

If that keeps him occupied and happy, I wouldn't worry about it, lawns can be repaired and besides it's good exercise for him out in the fresh air. The garden centres (some of them) will be open from Wednesday if they can get their social distancing arrangements in place, so it might be a good idea for your mum to phone in advance just to check.
Can they not get their shopping delivered direct rather than you having to do it? it's easier to get a slot now, I've had a Sainsbury's one for the last 3 weeks as we're over 70. Try to hang on in there.
