@Dovefromabove- not a fan of most of his stuff either, but you'd need a heart of stone not to sing along to Islands in the Stream They've just told a story on the news there, about him becoming a tennis player in the 80s [news to me too!] and he said his greatest achievement was being ranked higher in the doubles than Bjorn BorgÂ

How depressing. Glad I've got OH. Must be awful for people alone. Also those in flats with no gardens. In France people are hardly allowed out, no riding, no cycling, in case they have an accident and take up a valuable hospital bed.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hello everyone. Saw a hedgehog when I went to check the cows just after midnight. On a sad note son in law's Grandmother has been diagnosed.They have been told she will not make it through the virus. Something to make you smile. My youngest grand daughter, who will soon be turning three is struggling with understanding everything at the moment. They had been unable to get any bread and so she had to go without. When they went to Lidls to try and get some she was shouting at the people "No, give me my bread back." Please everyone take care . Will catch up again later. Off to check on the two new babies we had last night.
@Fritillary ... I’m sorry about your son in law's grandmother ... very sad 😞
Lovely to have calves to cuddle ... I used to love them sucking my fingers when we taught them to feed from the bucket.
OH has returned from work ... he said that he has chosen to use up some A/L (as we've cancelled our holiday) and then may be on unpaid leave or maybe with a proportion of his pay when his employers can sort out what the government is offering. Two of his colleagues are self-isolating anyway as one has asthma and the other has a vulnerable family member. The manager and asst manager will be doing their normal hours and as trade has slowed they'll cope ... if it gets busy they may phone OH as we live nearby. The manager stressed that OH is a valued employee and is definitely not being 'laid off' and the company feels it's in quite a good position to bounce back as soon as all this settles down.
For now he's tidying the terrace and sorting out the little lean-to greenhouse so we can get on with the garden. I've come in and I'm letting him get on with it as the wind is so cold and blustery it was making my head hurt and I still have my cough (a dry cough I've had since Dec/January 🤔) I'm in charge of making cheese and tomato sandwiches for lunch. Â

Nice one @punkdoc Makes sense @Dovefromabove. Keep him busy Youngest fairylet has just been asked to come in earlier to work. She was filling in at another branch for a couple of days too, as folk were off ill. Not sure if they were ill because of the present problems. She made sure she was constantly cleaning her till though. it's an area where it's the only 'supermarket', so it was quite busy.
That's very sad @Fritillary. Not much anyone can do, except give support in any way they can. Â

Hi folks, Sorry to hear your news @Fritillary, I suspect that more of us will be in a similar situation before this is over. Popped out this morning as we were down to one carton of milk and managed to get 4 UHT and a pack of toilet rolls from Aldi. Still a lot of empty shelved especially those containing antibacterial stuff. They were restricting everyone to 4 of the same thing and people were being sensible.
Secondborn is worried about Gabriel as he still has a high temperature and is refusing to eat. We are all keeping our fingers crossed that it's just a normal childhood bug. Went into Wickes next to Aldi and hubby has picked up some paint, brushes and rollers etc and has said he will gloss the hall, stairs and landing and also decorate the living room, I nearly fell off the chair. We are off into the garden at the moment to mow the lawns and I'm going to paint some fence panels that didn't get done last year.Â
Please stay safe, and thanks to all essential workers who are helping to keep us safe and fed.

Cold and a stiff, chilly Easterly wind.
