@Busy-Lizzie ....Hi..I'm thinking Ballerina doesn't look as tho it has as many petals as my Rose. I'm really going to try and find that one and Penelope which was also suggested. I asked a YouTuber who I thought had one that looked like it too, hers was Jude the Obscure, any thoughts on that.? Thanks for answering my question.!
@Marlorena ...Hi...just seen your post about "Danae". The petals are just like mine, but the color is still off. I so wish I had more photos saved from last yr. I will diffidently share more this spring/summer.
@Busy-Lizzie ..Hi..Thanks for pointing out that the my Rose is most likely Penelope. Mine is a wonderful scented Rose. As mine starts to bloom I will share more photos. Truth is, I'm still skeptical that it's either of the suggestions so far, photos in the searches just don't look like it to me. I'm now looking forward to finding those in person. Thanks for the suggestions, your wealth of knowledge has been a big help.
@grnidgirly ..that's ok... I 'know' most of them and they're very knowledgeable.. I thought as it was more local for you any advice would be more appropriate.. lots of roses they grow in the States don't make their way over here and vice versa, which makes i'ding roses doubly difficult..
@Marlorena ..Thank you for sharing that site, I'm sure I'll visit it often. I prefer the way this site is set up, that's what I meant. Didn't know that about Roses not being available everywhere, guess I should have figured as much. There's a flowering tree I can't get here, and the nurseries don't ship overseas, they said it's just too much trouble. I'd been hoping to find the name for that Rose for so long, then when I seen it on the show, I couldn't hardly believe my eyes, if I ever get the chance to visit England, I'm going to visit that garden first thing =^)
@grnidgirly It's one of the most popular Rose gardens in the country... it was filmed at David Austin Roses in Shropshire, England... all those roses feature in their gardens.. including 'Penelope'... which is why I know it's the rose in the video along with Ballerina and Thomas a Becket which is grown as a hedge there... your rose is different though..
I often see roses only available in the States that we cannot get here.. the one I want at the moment is called 'Like No Other'... I hope it makes its way over here at some point.. although we have to be careful with Weeks Roses from Texas as they had Rose Rosette Disease in their growing fields a few years ago and never told anybody... some of that material could have been sent all over the world, including here... we don't have RRD in this country at the moment, but I feel it's only a matter of time, unfortunately...
I see Like No Other is sold out at the growers site, are they super strict about plants coming in.? I'd be happy to get a small one whenever I see it and send it over.
@Marlorena ..just seen the comment about the TX Rose Disease, pretty underhanded not being forthcoming about that, guess that answers my question about sending you a Rose.
There are regulations about importing plant material for a reason ... as Marlorena explained there are plant diseases in the USA that we don’t have here in the UK. Please never send or carry living plant material into the UK without enduring it had been checked and has all the appropriate certification.
