@Marlorena Hi.....I'm thinking that still looks different then mine, the buds in the photos I searched look pink, my Rose buds are yellow. Wish I had a photo of a tighter bud. Thank you for telling me about Penelope, I will keep an eye out to have a real Rose to compare mine with.
@grnidgirly ...the rose you highlighted first, which was taken from a snapshot of the video, at about 6.35 minutes in on the GW film, was 'Penelope'.. as they were discussing Rev. Pemberton's hybrid musk roses [it's one of his].... the actual rose at 6.39 was 'Ballerina'... but your picture was from a few seconds before that...
..it's not the same rose as shown now in your recent picture above.. I would like to see a more open bloom on that one...
@pansyface Hi....it's not the peace Rose, mine is more blouncy..if that's a word..it's not tight at all, pretty sure it's a musk Rose, I seen the same one one Gardeners' World. Thanks getting it a look tho, I do appreciate that.
@Marlorena Hi....the photos are the same Rose, the opened photo doesn't show the pink around the edge of the petals, mine really does look the same as the one on the show. Just looked up Ballerina, I know which one that is from the show, mine is @5.46. I will look for Penelope to be sure that's actually it or not. Thanks for all your help, I really DO appreciate that. Maybe when it starts to bloom, I'll think to post those photos for a better idea from start to finish. Thanks again
@grnidgirly ok.. I got confused, I can see now.. the two photos are of the same rose, although they look very different but the background in the photos is the same... The rose in the dailymotion video at 6.27 I still think is 'Penelope', but your rose may be 'Danae' which is very similar, but varies from blush white to yellow.. it has more yellow buds.. both have dark slightly glossy foliage..
Just as an aside, you might like to ask on the NGA forum [National Garden Association] it's an American forum and there is a Roses section, and the members there are very good with i.d.'s on roses grown in the States... the same rose can be quite variable from country to country.. climate, different rootstocks, all play a role.. best of luck and hope you find a satisfactory conclusion...
@Fire ...Hi......I want to Thank you for sharing that link, we have no garden shows over here anymore. This will give me plenty of hours of joy. Thanks again.!
When I looked at the video the rose at 6.27 was Ballerina. Smaller, pinker, more single flowered than Penelope. Flowers start pink and fade to white, in big bunches.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
