Some of my early-flowering crocuses have broken the surface. Can spring be far away?
Yes. Spring will be the two weeks after Summer next year.

Just heard my grandson’s past his entrance exam for Oxford and has an interview.

That's really good news
@Lyn
, well done him!
My RTBT today is that I was able to pick quite a big bunch of roses and other flowers from the garden today. We're hoping to take them up to the village where my family are buried and have a jolly good lunch in the local pub.

Have just watched a glorious sunset. Gorgeous.
Artificial Christmas tree up but not dressed yet. Looks OK as it is a fibre optics one.
My Christmas treat to me was delivered today. Some Rose and Geranium Leaf toilet soap. Yum.

Third declension nominative plural of clematis would be clēmatidēs. But as we don’t speak Latin clematis or clematises are the accepted plural forms.

And there I was thinking clematis was an ancient Greek word, like geranium.

Obelixx you’re quite right in thinking the word is Greek in origin, spelled klematis.

Etymology
. The genus
name Clematis
is from Ancient Greek clématis, ("a climbing plant") from κλῆμα klema – 'twig, sprout, tendril'.
