Tomorrow hubby and I are going for a socially-distanced picnic with our 2 granddaughters and their mum & dad.  It'll be the first time we've seen them (other than on Zoom) since early March.   :)  <3
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

... and that rheum has hardly got started yet 😉

I've had one for years and it's nowhere near that size. I feel so inadequate . :'(

Not sure is this really falls under RTBC, but it made me laugh.  We went to a rather up-market Garden Company yesterday (note: nothing so common as a Garden Centre), where they have copper garden tools with one of their selling points being that copper deters slugs and snails.  I've never personally had a problem with slugs and snails eating my garden tools, although a pair of secateurs is missing so maybe slugs have eaten them.
Not exactly cheap either.  Half moon edger £135, spade £170!  More money than sense was the thought which sprang to mind for some reason.

Isn't copper quite malleable? If so, the tools should take on a unique shape with use so well worth the 'considered purchase'.😉
    In London. Keen but lazy.

maybe it's to stop that common problem of slugs ganging up and attacking us poor gardeners as we work? It's ALWAYS happening to me.

  • I got up early this morning to look for Comet NEOWISE and I saw it! The first bright comet for many years. I needed binoculars as the twilight was rather strong. Also got a photo. It should look good later in the month when it becomes visible in the evening in a darker sky.
