Your dedication is so impressive @newprojectgarden, I wish I had the time to decide so much thought and planning to my garden!
I love the curved beds they really hug the edges of the central lawn,  it's looking fantastic!

Got hold of some more cobbles for the floor of the dugout area. At some point I'll put some sand and hardcore down and cement them in place...

I have also now installed the root barrier and planted 2 fargesia campbells on the right hand side. I wanted to get all the bamboos planted while they still have a bit of time to settle in before winter. Then when spring comes,  they will be good to go :) I just went for a straight edge for now as I hope to lay a new and larger patio next year (loosing the square piece of grass on left hand side and the strip on the right)

Thanks! Somehow I find the time, but it has been a lot of work on my own..

Whenever I take a new photo of the garden it gets set as my desktop background.. I then have a 'view out of my window' to think about ideas and positioning of plants etc.  I'm a night owl and I find myself doing this a lot late at night when my family are sleeping.. B)
  • I see you've inspired your neighbours to the left!  They've painted their fence the same colour, looks great!
Wonderful job you're doing and your lawn made me smile right from the beginning.  It looks rather like a rabbit sitting up on it's haunches!
haha!! I  hadn't noticed that before!!

Yes they went for the  same colour ;) now the people on the right hand side need to do the same.! I think it would look great if we all had the same colour

Your garden has really filled out nicely. I wish I was brave enough to plant my bamboos into the ground.

By the way, I've nicked an idea for ground cover from your plant list.
The Asarum europaeum (Wild Ginger). Actually I literally googled your entire list one after the other and tried to resist the urge to add more to my list.

  • It's great to see how your garden has developed from a blank canvas into a beautiful space. Thanks for sharing the journey.
