Looks amazing. Can't believe the neighbours haven't upped their game yet? 🤣 x

It's looking wonderful. Interesting to see how the shapes have been rationalised as you have lived with the garden; I think it looks more harmonious now as well as presumably being easier to maintain.

I wonder to myself how the lawn will continue to shrink over the years. :D

I see you have inspired one of your neighbours to make a start.  Your garden is looking so lush now.

@Fire Agree I think that lawn will shrink over the years too. More space will be needed for more beautiful plants.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

What a brilliant thread - I am currently staring at a space not to dissimilar to yours (also a new build, also with trees at the bottom outside my fence!) hopelessly wondering where to begin - this certainly gives a lot of inspiration. Thanks for taking the time to share & update as you go.

It looks great :). The tree behind the fence at the bottom is a fine example of borrowed landscape.

Wow, your garden looks amazing.  I love the grey paint on the fence, too - what a difference it makes. Super.
