@Papi Jo How long did your amelanchier "obelisk" take to get to that height?
It was planted back in 2014. This year it's 4 metres tall and only 1.20 metres wide, because it's the 'Obelisk' cultivar, which is really columnar. It's flowering season is very short, only 2 weeks, so a bit disappointing.

    I love @Papi Jo's deconstructed rose!

Nice. I think Deutzia is an underrated shrub.

@ Papi Jo, thank you.  I was wondering which type of Deutzia I rescued.  It appears it is a Nikko, just a little behind yours in flowering  :)

What height was it when it was planted in 2014? I'm looking for a columnar tree and if I bought something at 1.5m this year I'd like to see it reach 2m next by next year.

Hi @Hexagon ! Here's the data, as far as I can remember. I don't systematically note down the height of my trees/shrubs, but in the case of this Amelanchier I was helped by the regular photos of my borders, especially as it stands against a 2 m. high fence and 2.30 m. high pergola.
    planted autumn 2014 : about 1.70 m.
    2015: 2 m.
    2016: 2.20 m.
    2018: 2.80 m.
    2020: 3.60 m. (measured just now)

This tree should fit your bill, it grows fairly regularly.
