In Papi Jo's garden the rose 'Pierre de Ronsard' produces roses with a large number of petals. Unfortunately these petals are arranged in an incredible jumble, and packed together, which makes it impossible to appreciate them at their true value. Papi Jo is a very meticulous and orderly (even obsessive ;) ) gardener and, like the Swiss artist Ursus Wehrli, he can't stand disorder either in art or in nature.

Putting things in order is a suitable activity in this period of lock-down, not to mention the rainy weather that was not conducive to working in the garden today. With the help of the under-gardener, a rose was cut and its petals put in the right arrangement. And while we were at it, we even made the count: 118 petals in total.
Rosa 'Pierre de Ronsard' in its natural, messy state.
    ... de-constructed
    Nicely ordered petals.

@Papi Jo I could have done with a few of those roses when I was making confetti for step wombles wedding last year!

@Nollie I think your first rose picture is absolutely perfect! So simple... stunning!

@Papi Jo, have you considered seeing someone for your affliction?  :)

Hi @WonkyWomble, it’s lovely isn’t it? A new rose for me, called Astronmia (also called Sweet Pretty, The Charlatan). The blooms are surprisingly large at 3.5” across, be interesting to see how they all fit when a full cluster opens!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

Thanks for caring for my (mental) health, @punkdoc
Would hortitherapy fit the bill, do you think?

@Papi Jo, I would recommend hortitherapy for everybody.
