    Good morning to all.
It's sunny outside, but cold and windy. Snowflake are flying around, they came with wind. Today is second round of presidential elections here so nothing worthy on tv to watch.

    Happy Birthday Kitty!

I'll have a cup of tea now and go to browse for arm chair on internet. I bought new furniture  for one sleeping room yesterday. It's seasonal discount everywhere.

Morning all.  First time for weeks that I've been up, showered and dressed before 10am o:)

Hope Kitty and LB's brother enjoy their birthdays.

Ante, a comfortable arm chair is a must so good luck with getting one.
It's unseasonably mild where I am but no doubt that will change.

At breakfast time this morning I put my puffed wheat , nuts and prunes into my bowl and went to unlock the doors .I can’t have been more than two minutes . When I came back Casper was just escaping into the sitting room and my breakfast was all over the floor .😳. There had been a chase game and Casper wasn’t accepting the the responsibility for the mess.😊

Good morning all! Pansy I loathe flies of every kind such dirty creatures and one of the reasons I am so kind to 🕷 spiders!
Got youngest daughter and her hubby and oldest son here for lunch to try to finalise funeral plans. Mom’s husband being his usual awkward and annoying self but won’t bore you with details. House is a terrible mess with Christmas decorations everywhere in bags and boxes but I am determined to buy proper storage and pack them away properly this year! New year new me as I am not an organised person at all. LB your post sums up my perfect Sunday add in some chocolate and a good book!

Rubee - I think what Pansy is calling 'attic flies' are probably what I refer to as 'cluster flies'.

Both are appropriate names for them because they are often found in attics and they congregate in big clusters to doze away the winter.

Everybody on our road has them and they are particularly noticeable in the autumn when they're looking for somewhere warm to stay and in the spring when they get ready to go outside. We also get them in two of the window casements and it's horrid when you open the windows and about 50 fall out over your arm.

They're not the same as house flies. They're dozy, bumbling things with quite a bit of brown in the body. They're so dozy that you can often pick them up to chuck them out of the window or they fall out of the loft / window casement and lie on their backs buzzing away and turning themselves in circles with the vibration.

They're not 'dirty flies' like house flies but it's not nice having them.

Because we also have bats in the loft we can't use insecticide sprays (even if we wanted to) but we do have one of those industrial electric UV fly zappers. The bats don't mind it and we collect a couple of pounds of cluster flies every year. Nice😬

Well thank you Pansy and T Bird. I have learned something new today . Those flies although not dirty must be a real nuisance.

I still feel sleepy, not quite awake.  Topbird with all your entertaining you will run low.  I hope you’ll recharge your batteries after the season.

I went to uncle's early today so now have the afternoon to myself.

Rebecca, in the winter months I could happily stay in bed til lunchtime.  Enjoy lounging about today.

Debs, it's difficult when there's someone being awkward but I hope you can get satisfactory arrangements made.

I've never been aware of cluster flies in the attic.  Maybe too far north for them.
