Not been able to post for a while, I woke up one morning and couldn't see out of my left eye, turns out I had a detached Retina, had an emergency operation to laser it back on, they insert a CO2 Gas bubble behind your eyeball to assist the repair, my sight is now about 80% of what it was, been told to rest up. Weeds are growing in my veg garden.
Sorry to hear about your eye problem. I have a very similar problem about 5 years ago. Not a detached retina but a small vessel had somehow burst out in the retina, causing a local hemorrhage and a totally blind left eye until it was repaired. I do remember the gas bubble as well! This was followed by a cataract operation which did not work as expected, resulting in a few days with an aphakic eye. I recounted the story on my garden site here: http://www.rezeau.org/wp-garden/en/the-aphakic-gardener/
Anyway, I'm glad for you that you were promptly repaired; I hope you have fully recovered your eyesight so you can enjoy your excellent veg garden.
You have done amazingly, good job the got the retina attached in time. I was working a night shift once, got lightening bolts thought it was a migrain, went to optitions, (just happened to have routine app) he thought it was a detatched retina, it wasnt,I was nursing 150 years, only squeamish about 2 things, 1 is eyes, I dont mind them in situ, not so good when they arent!! Somehow I always got the job of cleaning out (empty) eye sockets. Out of interest how long and wide is your garden, give it to me in old money!!
