Just back from SM. It's in the centre of town so a lot of regular customers use it as a shoppers car park and nip to the market and shops before coming back to do their grocery shop. Works fine most of the year (it's only a medium size market town) - but not in December. Went early enough not to have to queue to get in but I did have to queue to get out.
Note to self - it's only going to get worse over the next 2 and a bit weeks. Go early, go late, not between 10 and 5...
LB - not having to worry about the weather is the best bit of having a mobile hairdresser.
SGL - glad the cough is subsiding a bit. I don't know why but I positively like evil tasting medicine - flavours that would make me heave in any other context. Maybe there's a subconscious thing going on that taking medicine = being poorly = being a bit fussed over and cosseted when I was a child. Go Sigmund Freud...😁
The only thing I can't face is Fishermen's Friends 😬
Time to unpack and make a nice hot cuppa.
Then I need to decide if I'm going out to clear up fallen apples and quinces. Pretty sure there's a ratty rat living under one of the raised beds and nearby fallen fruit is the most obvious food source. If I remove it and doing a lot of banging around maybe (s)he'll move on.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
It's quiet on here today - are you all busy with seasonal tasks?
LB - are you putting up your dekkies?🤨😬😁
Hope the cake was good Chive.
I've been outside this afternoon - clearing the fallen fruit which has gone in the council bin because there's a lot of apple scab and brown spot on the quince. The council bin now weighs a ton. Will have to get OH to put it out next week - it's too heavy for me to move.
As usual I got waylaid and started doing other cutting back stuff. Not much because bad light stopped play.
That's one of the few good things about gardening in the winter - you can only work for few hours at a time - oh! and the weeds don't regrow - that's another one😁

T'Bird, I haven't started on the dekkies yet. I've had my youngest sister on the phone - only 1 and 1/4 hours today - she must be off colour. I had a rat problem in the summer and thrashing about making a noise and moving stuff soon scares them away. Lily is useless.
I think I feel inspired to start on the dekkies tomorrow. Oh and I was waiting for neighbours to return so I could give them their milk. Mr has just arrived now.

Afters peeps . OH appointment at the dental hospital went well . We had lunch in the Vic’ near the town hall . It has been open since the mid eighteen hundreds .The Christmas decs were lovely .The pubs external and internal architecture is original . So nice to sit in such a cosy atmosphere.
Evening everyone. It's Friday afternoon at last. Outside is rain again but it's a bit warmer. I'm just relaxing with cup of tea and tv. Program is about Highlands animals. really interesting. I'll put my Christmas lights and decoration tomorrow. Tree must wait till Christmas Eve.
LB, lovely cartoon. I made a high stand for my tree, cats and dog are the reason.
I bet that Chive enjoy with tea and cake. Maybe they ended with some some gin or Christmas wine.
Runny, I completely forgot that we also have election for president in three weeks. A huge jumbo poster across my school reminded me on that.
My brother has just rung to say he's back from his 'Turkey and Tinsel' week in Scarborough. He said it was marvellous and ..............THEY HAD NO RAIN ALL WEEK!
They had trips to York and Whitby which he enjoyed very much only they didn't have enough time in Whitby to do a great deal. He didn't bump into Dracula.
