It's my tea company of choice and I'm happy to compost them. Same price as Yorkshire Tea

I also use the Clipper Organic Tea Bags.Nice and strong!
They are supposed to be plastic free but there is apparently some controversy because they use 'bio-plastic'.The report I read didn't enlarge upon how they break down or what bio-plastics do to the environment.
I looked up bio-plastics and they are usually made from cornstarch so break down quickly with no long term harmful effects.
    So will continue with Clipper!
Pukka Teas are all organic and the bags folded and closed with a single stitch of organic cotton.

Our Tesco don’t sell Clipper loose tea. Only bags.

Currently using a bag of loose tea I had and it is a bit of a faff!
I can see why tea bags are used!!!

Works a treat with loose tea

PS - it was this article that raised my awareness

  • I probably drink three pots a year of Yorkshire Gold...being a coffee guy. But have found the Bodum tea pot is particularly easy to use and easy to clean. One of them: https://www.bodum.com/gb/en/1844-913-assam

I grew up on Co-op Indian Prince loose tea. As that was more than 27 years ago I was surprised to discover it is still around and gets good reviews.

@Pete.8 As teabag plastic has been such a large issue for the last few years, many tea companies have changed their policies since the article was written.

I know, but my preferred choice is Waitrose Gold tea and their bags do still contain plastic sealants. I'll get some some Gold loose leaf when I do my weekly shop at the weekend and try and stay a convert  o:)

  • I also drink loads of tea, but unfortunately due to health reasons I’m having to try & switch to decaf, I’m getting there but it’s a slow process. However, I have used loose leaf tea for years & make a pot of tea most of the time but if I’m just making a cup I use one of the tea infusers, & Assam loose tea. It’s very hard to get hold of now but some Asian shops sell it & you can get it online, eBay etc, but it’s not cheap now.I first got mine in Tesco’s in their ethnic aisles but the don’t do it any more. I’ve stocked up on it when I’ve managed to get it cheap as I’ve noticed over the past few years the price as got a very expensive, I assume due to more people using it over tea bags. I also used to buy red label tea from Waitrose until this year when they stopped selling it for some reason. Like other people have said, I think tea companies are started to get rid of the plastic in the tea bags so maybe you’ll find a good tea bad that’s biodegradable.
    Happy tea drinking tea ☕️
