  • Amazon has its uses. It's good for choice and the fact it can be delivered,  but bad because you dont get to see the things first.

Given our history with the weather station and the floor robot I want some after-sales service so we're still looking for a shop.  Nantes is good cos I can do a raid on the Asian and Carribbean SM while I'm there.  La Rochelle is OK cos we can go for lunch by the port.  Niort would be OK too as we have yet to explore it's other shopping possibibilities.

E-bay didn't work for us in Belgium.  Haven't even looked here.

Anything from Amazon you can find on Ebay. I recommend Ebay.
I've found Amazon to be more expensive than elsewhere recently. Maybe it's just me but they seem to be sneaking up the prices either for the convenience/laziness tax or to make prices look better for the pre-xmas sales.

Don't forget that Black Friday (meaningless USA invention) is at the end of the month. Useful if you don't have any other choices than the American monopolies.

Can't find a single shop selling this sort of thing and Amazon.fr is cheaper than Cdiscount.fr.  Frustrating.

I imagine in France you'll find more hunting shops selling them than wildlife watching shops.

Not so far @wild edges.  I shall change the google search and see if that helps.

No, there are hunting, shooting, fishing and archery shops but no cameras.

Amazon seem to be using much of their staff on a semi-slavery basis. They pay their suppliers next to nothing (including author friends of mine). At least on Ebay the sellers get 75% of the margin from the sale item. Also, Amazon's search algorthim is too foul and underhand these days. Put in a search for bird food and you'll get results for BMWs, spatulas and G strings. With Ebay they give you the results you asked for. If I ever fling my laptop out of the window it will because Amazon is trying to flog me Kardashian stilettos.

The upside of Amazon is that you can read full and detailed reviews of products and ask extensive questions of current item owners. And then go off and buy your thing somewhere else.

I think you need an Adblocker @Fire

Thanks @Helix.   Found a chasse shop in La Roche but no cameras on their website.  We can always pay a visit.
