Good good morning all. Last cup of tea in bed before we leave this lovely place. Roads were badly flooded yesterday lucky we were in the van, and pouring rain so didn’t stay long in Ludlow but we have loved it here so will definitely come again. Little birds enjoying their sunflower hearts this morning. Popping in to see hubby’s family in Telford on way home. This has done me so much good I feel refreshed and ready to face everything. Hubby and I have had some long chats in the hot tub and made some decisions about his job next year that I hope will work out.
I just want to say you Rezzers are an inspiration, always busy, always cheerful despite your problems large and small and so supportive of each other, you are a lovely lot, I really enjoy reading your posts. Thank you
Morning everyone, Quick pop in as I'm off to Tunbridge Wells. In hope of getting some xmas pressies! Place your bets now I come home with nothing 🙄 Have a good day TTFN
Mission accomplished! The worst thing about shopping is unpacking and storing it once you get home. Mystic kettle is on for the all important brew.
Debs, what a lovely message to read on my return. Made me go all fuzzy inside.
Rebecca, please can you tell me the name of that cat food you said that Lily (my cat, not SGL) would like. I stood mesmerised in front of arrays of all sorts of food and could I remember - no!
Calm down, calm down Chey - good to see you though as I was beginning to wonder where you were.
I hope SGL has a good trip to Tunbridge. I'm betting on her definitely coming back with something!
Hazel, wrap up warm for your outing. I have to say that going armed with the trusty unbrella today did the trick again. Sun came out and sky is blue.
When I was in town I heard this most unusual noise. It was very loud and reminded me of the sounds they use in films for pterodactyls. Similar to a crow but about 10 times as loud and it reverberated off the buildings. I soon spotted where the sound was coming from. There was a van from the parrot rescue centre in the square, obviously hoping for good donations from the shoppers. The ladies with the van were smiling at folks' reactions to the noises but they hadn't brought the birds out of the van so I didn't get to see any. The noises were impressive.

Yes LB it's Felix Mini Fillet and at the local sm they do them in salmon and chicken and Alfie loves both. I give him one with a couple of dreamies at treat times. They last a bit longer that way. You will be popular with Lily.
Well the boiler servicing agent arrived. He checked the boiler over and was not happy at all after doing some tests. He switched everything off put a danger sign on the boiler and issued me with a Warning Notice which I had to sign, should I use it. So no hot water and no heating. Luckily the shower is electric so I can be clean. He said its a common fault with V****ant and that the boiler was still under warranty. Also the boiler had been leaking water. He offered me a small heater but I had one but not enough to heat properly. Waiting for V to contact me to resolve issues. Not happy unit was dangerous after the last time they'd been. Also you have to put the boiler thermostat on high to get heating on so not cost effective at all. There have been nothing but problems since installation. Ba humbug. Sitting with coat on and a mug of tea. Alfie's had his treats, new litter and his lunch.
How extremely irritating Rebecca and as you say, how come it got to that unuseable state since its last service? It is useful having an electric shower. I made it very clear to my plumber when I had my bathroom changed into a shower room that i did not want the shower connected to the boiler's hot water supply for exactly the reason you have written about so I, too, have an electric shower.

Afternoon - obviously that time of year for boiler servicing - mine's being done as I type. Hope we don't have the same result as Rebecca though! That's appalling Rebecca - how can a newish boiler which has been serviced properly get into that state? I think it was you that had problems with their new boiler from day one wasn't it?
Obviously a bad installation job if it's never worked properly.
Do you have an open fire or anything else you can use to keep warm? It's miserable being cold indoors and a Friday is not the best day of the week for things to go wrong! Hope they get you sorted soon.
Debs - lovely post from you🙂. Sometimes you just need to be able to get away from everyday stresses and make some escape plans - gives you back a little bit of control in life.
I need to do some online seasonal shopping...
