How about the old favourite 'Iceberg' ? I've got climbing 'Claire Austin' which is white with a yellow tint inside, but as Marlorena says, it does try to flop everywhere.

Just a note that DA roses can take a good few years to settle in and flower fully. I have had Pilgrim in for about three years and it's not happy yet. Also, structure in large amounts of watering for at least the first year after planting. DA said, somewhere, that you can't over-water a rose. I've been astonished by how much new roses want to drink.

I had busy couple of days with kids and family. catching up on messages now.

@amancalledgeorge, A Shropshire Lad looks gorgeous in photos. Did it repeat flower reliably?

@marlorena, thanks for information on Aloha rose and recommendations. After all the effort dont want a wrong aloha. Have you ever ordered directly from kordes?

@meomye, i didnt see Pat Austin in da website so missed it.

@Fire, thanks for the tip about water. I need more water butts setup and i am secretly hoping thameswater wouldnt connect meter for a year. haven't heard anything yet since i have moved so fingers crossed.

  • It was in flower all summer when I had it @newbie77 even if because of the then set up didn't treat it too well. Given good conditions and a bi annual feed it should be spectacular.

Dont worry about a water meter @newbie77 ,as surprisingly it is costing me less and I am using more since moving here with a meter. 😁
  • I have 2 Lover`s Meeting....absolutely stunning

Now that's the kind of rose I like @Daffydilly as bright an orange as possible, stunning. 😁

That is the proper orange rose! Loving it.

And good to know i shouldn't worry about water meter. We are  very careful with water usage at home anyway. It is my plants who use water.

  • I planted Lover`s Meeting by my front gate and it`s prolific for a hybrid T.
Passers by often ask what it is and also ask for a bloom.
The loving care certainly pays dividends ;)
