    No. I don't always do it either. But when I've got a load to put away, I full a bucket with some warm water and a dash of Fairy and have a swish.

    I rarely wash a pot.  But if we're ever going to get workable schemes for recycling them, "they" will probably insist they be spotlessly clean.

    Never washed a pot or tray, everything grow just fine.
    Who goes out to sterilise their garden when seeds fall naturally? 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    I don't wash mine either, reminds me too much of housework!

    Never wash pots and never had a problem. Life's too short.

  • Thank you for all of your replies. I’ve had spider mites on my pepper plants this year, which is why I was wondering about washing the pots. Will follow your advise everyone, thanks.
  • Ive got an old plastic rubbish bin which I fill with water and a touch of bleach and leave for 24 hrs. Then the dirt just rinses off. A lot easier than scrubbing with a brush
