purplerallim I've been making tomato sauce, tomato puree, bottling and freezing I've run out of idea's as to what to do with them. I grew Golden Delight but didn't find they had much taste but then it could just be me. At the moment I have a washing up bowl full with them till I can think of what to do and the two elderly ladies up the road have been having some. Think I might order some Black Cherry for next year, already have some Beef Steak as I want to see how big I can grow them. Never tried heritage seeds but might be worth looking into them.
Son's just come in so I'll be dropping a few gentle hints re the River Cottage books.
Thanks for that Dovefromabove, I'll take a look at that one after tea. Just need to get the books and have a rainy day so I can stay indoor and make everything. Only kind loving this good weather out in the garden from around 8. 30am till 5 or 6pm it's great.
Thanks purplerallim I've put them both on my list of seeds to buy. I don't have a very big veg garden so grow some veg and fruit in pots among the flowers but would like to try one or two new things each year so I can find what I like and what's worth growing.
That's why I'm trying Roma this year first "cooking" tom. Tried beef tom and don't think they are worth the space, as like you @NannaBoo have limited space. Next year will grow Roma ( still have seed) but will try another type of regular sized one. Will grow black cherry as its prolific and has great flavour.
Purplerallim, I was wondering about the taste of Black Cherry, thanks for saying what there like. If the yield is good one them I'll be able to save space and still walk around and pick and eat them which I have to confess I'm always doing. I'm going to try the Roma also as we like sun blushed tomatoes and these might be a better option than the Yellow Delight which to me don't have much of a taste. The Yellow Delight seem to be a firm tomato and not very juicy unless I've just been unlucky.
Absolutely the best tomato for flavour is Sungold ... they’re a large cherry-style fruit and a golden orange when ripe ... we pick and eat as we pass them in the garden and have a bowl in the kitchen and take and eat them like sweets.

Morning Dovefromabove, I'll give that one a try as well and not bother with the one from this year which to be honest I'll didn't think had a lot of taste. A woman after my own hart I like to walk round the garden and check out the produce. Apart from tomato I'm eating the pea's (which didn't do well and the beans, so so much nicer thank shop bought.
The first year I had sun gold it did well @NannaBoo , last year in the heat the crop was poor and the plants weedy , that was why I stuck with black cherry which didn't mind the heat and cropped into October in the greenhouse.
