@Liriodendron - good to get your eyes checked.  Bonzo is doing well thanks. He had his stitches out on Wednesday and it's a good, clean wound that's healed well.   We now have gentle physio exrecised to do 2 or 3 times a day to help relax his muscles and start gently bending his knee.   2 weeks of that and then an X-ray to confirm all is well with his new knee and then he can start more demanding exercises and short walkies.

@Fairygirl - we nibble the small tomatoes but I defy anyone to nibble a 5 or 600g beefsteak without getting into trouble.  We've concluded that we won't be growing Polish raspberry again - pretty pink tomatoes but not strong on flavour.  However we love the orange banana and the large brandywine.

I hope we get pics of the Devon garden tour!!

Evening. Very pleased the weekend is here. I think the tactics for the weeeknd will be a day off tomorrow (sunny) and revising Sunday (raining).
Hope you all ok. Nice pic Busy. Hope your eye behaving Lirio. Warm tomatoes from the garden are one of life’s little pleasures. Glad Bonzo doing ok.

  • Trying to ignore the pain, @Fairygirl.  Nerve pain is notoriously difficult to control... I have a stronger painkiller to take at night, which helps with the sleeping...

Glad Bonzo is coming on well, @obelixx.  Hopefully he's a good patient and is putting up with the restrictions on his lifestyle!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

@Liriodendron he's getting frisky round the edges as his mobility improves but he's also very happy to be quiet as long as he has company or something to eat.

@AuntyRach - what are you revising for?   Hope it goes well for you.

Supposed to be wet here on Sunday too.  I'm planning to sew - have to prepare a workshop for the patch club on Monday and dig out my mosaic stuff for class in the early evening.   Mondays are going to be busy till the end of June.

The log man came when we were in La Rochelle so we have 5 cubic metres to stack round the other side of the house. We use the garden tractor and trailer. Done about a third of it. Hard with my hands and OH's hip.

It's been hot and sunny for the last week. 30° was forecast for this afternoon.

We went to the SM after stacking logs, seems daft when we are off to Norfolk on Monday but we were almost out of coffee, butter and loo rolls and the HS, different man this time (the one I don't like so much), will be using some of that.

I do feel for you, Liri. Must be awful near eyes, mine was bad enough around the hip.

    Morning all.
. Liri, best wishes to you. I must missed that you had that problem. Hope it improves soon.

We’ve been stacking logs here too Lizzie - must be that time of year again 🍁. We get through a lot each winter, so like to start with a good shedful.

Greenhouse order now placed đŸ‘đŸ»đŸ‘đŸ»đŸ‘đŸ».  Last minute change of heart on the colour - decided to go for a slightly darker green.  The guy showed us his new suggestion, which he thought would work better in our space, and we both liked it.  Then he mentioned that the new colour was called Greensand.  That was the name of my aunt and uncles house (and was actually the name given to it by my Grandad, who lived there before them) .....so that clinched it.  Funny how these things work out â˜ș

Off in search of big skies and open spaces today.  Its 10 years since I lost my Mum (and my best friend) so its going to be a reflective sort of day.

    Monring all/afties Pat.
@chicky - that's very strange about the greenhouse - but lovely. Hope you have a good day with lots of big sky. It's coming up to that time of year for me too. Always difficult x
@Liriodendron - glad the painkillers are helping you sleep. I always think that's the worst thing with any illness/injury. You feel even worse when you're Kerry Packered.  I couldn't tolerate the ones they gave me last year so had to just put up with it.
Should have been walking today but I woke up with a horrible pain in my leg earlier. Hey ho - could have been worse.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

The new greenhouse sounds like a good reason to tackle the Greensand Way which runs close by. Only 108 miles  :) .
