I am more with it now after three coffees.  There was such a high wind last night that the garden and patio are full of leaves.

Rebecca,  in primary school we did exercises listening to a radio programme too.  It's strange to think of it now but we also had nature study from a radio programme.

Chive, hope you have a good day at work.

Joyce yes I remember the radio programme well.  The radio was in the ceiling of the classroom and she used a long pole to switch on the speaker.  It was a mixed class in infants and boys and girls exercised together, mainly reaching exercises and walking on the spot, not much room in the classroom for anything energetic.   We used to have mini nature walks around the grassed area in the playground which was quite large.   Sunny this morning with a breeze.

Turned out warm and sunny so I have got some weeding and cutting back done.  Colchicums are in flower so they and the cyclamen give some nice late colour.

I have just come in Joyce , been cutting back too . I have had to cut some roses back . They were so tall ,I couldn’t get round them . I hope they won’t suffer from cutting back at this time of year .

Rubee, I always cut roses back a bit before winter.  Your's will be fine.

RB, are your sheds all tidy now?

A neighbour has brought me round a large bag of plums which are just ready to eat.

Guten abend. Heute es regnet - all day - and it is sehr kalt.

So - no swimming in the lake today. Rain was forecast to start after 1pm so we went for a short cycle ride this morning to a pretty little lake. Unfortunately German weather forecasters are as good as their English counterparts and the rain arrived 3 hours early and we got drenched. Fortunately we both have a sense of humour...

Have been catching up with Poldark this afternoon. Very lazy.

Where is LB today? I see some ‘thoughts with you’ type messages - so maybe today is to do with her friend? I may have missed previous messages on the forum. If that’s been your day LB I do hope that things have gone as well as these things can. Not an easy time when it’s a friend.

Thanks for letting me know MU - I thought that was what was happening. As you say, sad times.

Hope it is not too frostig for you. We are listening to Aunty Beeb radio everyday trying to keep abreast of the political situation (😣) and we caught last night’s weather forecast for Scotland - brrrr. Winter draw(er)s on indeed. Also heard that a tanker full of gin was leaking all over the M6. If ever there was a job for Topbird....

Good morning everyone. I've got a fair few posts to catch up on so bear with me. Yesterday went really well with lots of laughter about our friend's life. Many fond memories exchanged. It was a fitting way to say goodbye.

Rebecca, I remember doing exercises in a tiny wooden floored hall at school to a radio programme.
Joyce my cyclamens are looking really beautiful now. They seem to almost just pop up over night. How lucky you were with the plums, Vistoria is THE one for me but I like them all to be honest.
PF - well done to all the honest folk who made donations for your fruits. It does restore a little faith in humanity.
T'Bird - thank you for your kind thoughts. Sorry to hear that it was a bit too cold for a lake plunge but the rain will have made up for that
M-U - I had words to say to friend from Crewe who came up for the funeral as she is a keen gin drinker and I think that she attacked the lorry to extract some of its cargo.

A very good morning Chive and well done for sorting out 'you know what'. So sensible. Life is worth far more than a few moments of embarrassment.
Thank you Hazel (sorry but I just can't call you 'Biker' if thats ok with you?) for your kind thought last night.
