Chey, cyclamen need to be kept cool.
Like most people it was nice to have visitors but nice to see them go and have the house back to yourself.

Ante, I love hazelnuts but no longer risk my teeth to crack them.

Runners, I'm waiting for the squirrels to start planting chestnuts in pots, the soil and the grass.

Have spent the afternoon nattering with friend who brought me green beans.  She went away with some hydrangeas for drying.

Does you friend spray them for C*******s time Joyce? I think that just dried or painted they always look so beautiful.

LB,  usually she just dries them.  I must cut a few for myself while they are still a deep crimson colour.

Has anyone any experience of growing winter pansies in semi shade ? I want to plant some  near the side of my outhouse . I have grown bedding begonias there for years and they have done well . I have no experience of winter bedding.

Joyce, that is when they are at their most magical I think. My Bestie has one and I am going to be collecting a few heads from hers very soon.
Ruby - Pansies should be fine in partial shade.
Runners - hailstones??? That is scary. Mind you I did hear the mention of 'frost' on the weather forecast this morning!

    Good evening to all.
I'm watching football and outside is very nasty weather. Rain, wind and thunderstorm.

Watching 'The Repair Shop'......phone rings..."Are you watching anything special?"...."I'm watching the conservation of a painting"......"Oh that's all right then"  I wanted to say "No it isn't".
For the third week running , general knowledge questions had just started and phone rang....Grrr.
    Hoping to watch GW now.
