Just got another call from Brian Blessed. He was calling on behalf of BT to warn me that something awful would happen. I didn't wait to hear what or to explain that I'd already given my pin numberĀ to that nice posh lady that was covering for him last month.Ā You'd think she'd have left a message with him before she left.š
The Met Office seem to have mislaid their windows again. I didn't water anything last night due to the incoming rain that they were forcasting. They're still telling me it's raining outside now despite the sun and blue skies
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
AnĀ automated voice is concerned because weāve not responded to their calls telling us that our internet is being terminated imminently because they have āevidence of illegal thingsā on our computer. Ā If we press 1 we can talk to their Technical Executive ... Iām sure thatāll help šĀ

Speaking of greenhouses, it is taking forever to glaze the new one. On the last one I did there were 3 of us working on it and it took long enough to wash the glass and get it fitted. On my own it seems to be taking 10x as long. The roof is done and the front and back though so I'm over half way there. I was hoping to have it done by today but the heat hasn't helped. It's no fun in the greenhouse in the sun even with glass missing.
Can't "she who must be obeyed" pass the glass up to you when new sproglet isn't demanding her attention elsewhere.Ā I agree doing a job like that take more than twice as long as doing the job with 2 people.
She's got her hands full enough with those two. I'm just glad she gives me the time to shirk parental duties to get this done on my own. Turns out I'd fitted a load of the glazing clips the wrong way too so I've wasted more time correcting those.
17 weevils tonight. I also found this elephant hawk moth caterpillar in the rarer green colouring. It was hard to hold the camera and torch but you can see the spiked tail and eye spots.

Sounds like you have the UK's entire population of weevils @wild edges - I've never even seen one (although I do get the nibbled leaf edges sometimes.
Love the pic of elephant hawk moth caterpillarĀ - they look quite scary don't they. I had one jump out right in front of me a year or so ago.Ā I was on my hands and knees in the middle of the border -Ā gave me quite a fright.
Hope you get the greenhouse finished soon @wild edges.Ā After all the weevil talk- I found one in the tray of water beside the hose. Needless to say, he wasn't swimming for long....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I'm really grumpy tonight. My tillandsia have been really thriving this year even with the hot weather we've had but this weekend they've been scorched by the sun. I don't know if I misted them too late in the day or something but quite a few have got big burn patches on the leaves. They're in a window that faces west and slightly north so they only get late afternoon sun and the window was on the vent position to keep them cool.

I found him again today and tried to get a better photo but it kept rearing up and pretending to be a snake. It looks very convincing too.
15 weevils tonight. It's really cold out but it doesn't seem to have deterred them.
