The water scarecrow can be turned off when you and/or the dog are in the garden.   Turn it back on so the cat gets a surprise it doesn't lke but which doesn't harm it.

Frankly - the water scarecrow is the only thing that works.
I've even remembered to wrap mine this week so that it doesn't freeze and burst.
Fortunately, now that I've retired, I'm around more, which helps, but it 's a constant battle here.  :|

The nerf guns are great fun, but as soon as I open the back door , they skedaddle.  :D

For soothing minor irritations I recommend application of The Ignore Button 👍

Yes it’s the one weak spot ... but that way we know the Ignore Button is working on the rest 👍

Mostly nice kids tonight, a few were a bit cheeky in a harmless way but fine and one weird older kid on his own with no costume but all were polite enough. Then just as I was getting my oldest boy ready for his bath I saw a gang of older kids coming down the street. I asked my wife to look after him while I answered the door but by the time I'd got there they'd chucked eggs and ran. I didn't hear anyone knock so I guess they were just out to cause trouble. We're the last house in the street so they probably just had eggs to use up. Ruins it for everyone else though.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

That’s brilliant, but some people you just can’t help, they just enjoy being obnoxious.
