I had a busy day today and forgot to top up the bird feeder. Feeling very guilty now after the bad weather. :/ With the clocks going back they'll be having a late breakfast too.

Strictly thread but no Bake Off thread. Disgraceful.
I'm just doing a couple of baked potatoes if you want to talk about that? It's been pretty run of the mill so far but I'm sure I could fabricate some drama to spice things up. Will the skins crisp in time? :o

There used to be a Bake Off thread but not since it moved to Channel 4.  I don't suppose anyone's bothered enough to start one.

Did you rub your skins with oil and salt @wild edges?  It helps get a crispy skin.

I'm lucky enough to live near a beach where I can gather seaweed for mulch.  I often find nylon fishing line and hooks tangled in it; typically, one hook and attached line per shopping bagfull.

Well the daylight hours are getting shorter ... nothing much we can do about that ... but we can get up and go to bed when we like ... don’t have to take any notice of what the clock says 😉

we still have to put our lights on an hour earlier in the evening. I'm sure the electricity supply companies are rejoicing .

Apparently daylight saving is going to be scrapped from 2021. I'm not sure why it takes that long to sort out? Maybe it's because diaries and things that mention it have already been printed?

    Why?

It's an EU thing @wild edges.   The EU has given all the member nations the option to decide for themleves whether or not they will continue to change the clocks but some have taken their time consulting and deciding.  Now I find conflicting reports about whether France will stay forward next spring or not go forward in 2021.

As @Papi Jo has previously pointed out, going forward in spring means people in the west of France get solar zenith just after 2pm and I have to say it does feel odd tho I'm getting better at telling time from the sun's position.  Rarely wear a watch these days.
