Possum used to hate going to sleep in case she missed anything, daytime naps too. Can't tell you how many photos we have of her asleep where she fell - in her stroller, on her forehead and knees on a landing and so on and so forth.
At bedtime we took to doing that 5, 10, 15 minute rule thing where you let them cry the first X minutes then go in, tell them to calm down and go to sleep. If they cry again, leave them 5 minutes and repeat. The next night, 10 minutes and the next night 15. Never more than 15. The idea is that it shows them they're expected to sleep but won't be abandoned and then they relax and sleep.
It sort of worked but for ages she's wake up again in the middle of the night. Got over it eventually.
Seems like yesterday and now we can't get her up!

Ahah! @fidgetbones Good to know the science behind the magic
Curmudgeonly because I have positively identified dahlias growing around the garden. Which means I have not killed them off through ignorance and neglect. Therefore, I either have to dig them out in a week or so and re-home them, or find a place to store them. Further neglect is not an option unfortunately. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
My wife bought a baby monitor with a camera which I thought was way OTT at the time. When he wakes up at 3am though I can usually see if he'll self soothe or if he's going to need help getting back to sleep and all without raising my head off the pillow. He travels about the bed a lot and gets himself stuck into corners sometimes or you hear a thump as his head bounces off the end panels. At the moment I tend to go as soon as he starts making enough noise that it might wake the baby though.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
I overheard a mild domestic in Asda today. The rugby kicks off at 8.45am and the bloke was complaining he'd have to get up at 6am to be able to get 'on the p*ss in time'. This apparently didn't suit his other half's adjenda for the day.

I was just thinking how bad Monday morning is going to feel if I don't get back to bed soon and then realised it's Sunday tomorrow I'm starving hungry though. Bleedin vegetarian food never seems to last as long as good old fashioned dead animals. Is three posts in a row verging on excessively grumpy?

No. There is no limit. We can always scroll through a few pages😉 Anyway,I detected a smile in the last post. It not being Monday will do that for most reasonable people and curmudgeons too.
