Morning Chive. How is she doing? I've got to go into town today to sort out my brother's mobile phone. He is a complete dinosaur where technology is concerned - doesn't even possess any other I.T. equipment and if he uses his mobile more than 4 times a year that is exceptional. I'm soft enough to do stuff for him whereas tough love might have been a better approach to get him to learn about modern technology.

Well they'll be able to prop one another up Chive.
Joyce, I do hope that you are able to get something sorted out about your roof today. Its always a worry when roofs are failing to do their job. Then you will have to find a decorator. As T'Bird mentioned yesterday, it will be worthwhile contacting your house insurance company. They may have their own roofers so I would try that before getting in touch with another roofer.

    Morning folks.
Dry and sunny thank goodness.  Forecast for here is mostly good for next two weeks which is just as well as roofer can't come until 23rd!!!  The one I've used before is on holiday so this is the one who re-roofed next door.  I'm wary of getting one who hasn't been recommended.

Ante, you can relax now that your cousin has gone. You were quite right to say that you weren't free until the 19th.

Chive, have a nice time with your mum.

LB, I'm probably two steps ahead of your brother when it comes to technology. I learn on a need to know basis.

Morning Joyce and PF. I think my brother is a reincarnated Luddite to be honest. Having said that, I am very much in support of people who don't have mobiles, laptops etc. when they are constantly being 'told' on TV and in letters to refer to the various associated websites. There are many people who are becoming more and more marginalised because of this. Brother does make me smile when he gets a scam call (yes, he's the twonk who answers them!) telling him his PC might not be running smoothly and they can 'help' him sort it out if he allows them access - you know the usual - and he then tells them he doesn't have a PC. Game, set and match to brother. I am still trying to persuade him to get a phone that tells him who is calling. The way the electronic voice on my phone pronounces some of the names in my contact list does me laugh though.

Good morning everyone . I slept in 🙁. There is someone who lives here who has a perfectly good phone . However all his appointment reminders, in fact every thing that should go to his phone comes through to mine. Said person hardly ever turns his on .
Joyce , I hope the weather holds until you get your roof sorted.I need tea.

Just had visit from two men from council. Landslip in next door garden has undermined part of my garage wall.  Council own the woodland behind us.

    Hello again. Brother's phone sorted.
Joyce - OMG, that doesn't sound good at all. Is the council responsible for the woodland and therefore will they assist you in getting the garage sorted/underpinned. You must be very concerned what with the roof and all. Thinking about you J. x
Oh dear Lants, poor you, your OH and Tiggs. I did warn you last night.
The council have just arrived here. Closed off one end of the Crescent and are drilling holes in the Lane. Not a clue what that is all about but the sound of drills is not conducive to gardening - when the rain ceases.

Chive have a nice time with mum.  LB mobiles are great for reminders and it's its  that your brother cannot be scammed.   Lantana it's good that you found some shelter even though you did get wet.  Poor Tiggs and willyou both be happy to be home and cosy again.  We've had quite a few downpours here some unexpected.  I'll have to spray with waterproofer because clothes today only seem to protect you from light showers.  It's becomes cooler wearing a t-shirt under a light jersey top.  Joyce I hope things will all be sorted for you on the 23rd it can be upsetting.
