What is leaving their droppings overnight in my 'kitchen'????

I'm in the process of extending my house, so I am living upstairs out of the bedrooms.
I was about to start making my porridge this morning when I was horrified to see that something has nibbled the cork stopper of the container that holds my porridge and left droppings.
I did see some in my porridge yesterday, but assumed they were seeds and ate it anyway  :open_mouth:
Any ideas?

    Just for your sake I will say those are probably all yummy edible seeds and nothing to do with mice. :#  Chuck down some snap traps baited with Mars bars, compost the porridge (it's too warm to eat a hot breakfast anyway right?) and don't think anymore about it.
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    The droppings seem extremely small for a mouse at only around 1mm
    Are you sure??

    A fourth for mouse. The droppings are about the right size too.

    Yep, those are mouse droppings.

    Not really what I wanted to hear, especially as I've eaten some...
    Now I've got to try and find where they are and do something about it.
    There are boxes of my belongings stacked almost to ceiling height.
    I'll have to put down some poison

    Don't use poison if you're going to go around eating the droppings :p
