OK. I tried growing vegetables but I'm too squeamish to eat them.

Broccoli is on the compost heap. To be honest, they weren't great specimens anyway.
I have replaced them with the courgettes that I had in containers.
Courgettes comply with the no bug hiding place specification😋

My grandad would be laughing. One of his favourite sayings when getting stuff out the garden was (in thick Black Country accent): "Me mon yowve godda ate a speck 'o dert fower ya duy".
Roughly translated as "My man,  you will unknowingly eat many things before one departs this earth. So don't worry about it."

If it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't have double checked the mint leaves I picked yesterday and would have chowed down on some aphids...

    Result!
Actually, my concerns (not a phobia!) do not include aphids. However, I would choose to avoid them😉

Same with my basil - you’ve got me both laughing and paranoid now, B3.

I salt our cauliflower but still put on X3 reading glasses to check each piece.
Close up and deeply into every orifice.

One slug is one too many. It put me off Cauliflower cheese for years, and that is my all time favourite vegetable meal.

A layer of bacon and extra cheese on top with BCB's.......

Totally understand the broccoli camouflage situation.

That may well be, I've never tried them. But finding a cooked homeless snail on your plate of veg is another matter😝
