OK. I tried growing vegetables but I'm too squeamish to eat them.

Maybe we are lucky but don't get many extras in out home grown veg and fruit, been a home grown gardener for many years, take the normal precautions and live well, we aren't buying any veg at this time except for tomatoes that aren't ready, lovely potatoes, broad beans, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage shortly, and fruit raspberries, black currants netted to keep the birds off

Thanks B3, the bed is over a redundant railway line the rail bed is still there with about two foot of soil covering.

There's good drainage then I suppose with the railway gravel.

With this weather too good, next doors lawn shows it first, tinged with brown, I am watering daily now, and on a meter, save all we can from other uses ?.

My toothbrush lives in a cupboard more than 6ft from the loo.  A while back, on waking in the morning, I went to have a drink from the glass of water I take to bed every night.  There was a big spider floating in it.  That got me thinking, how many have I swallowed when I've taken a drink in the middle of the night.

I always filter the water through my teeth - just in case!
I remember one night dreaming there was a big spider on the corner of my pillow.  I turned on the light and there he was.
He must have crawled over my face and woken me up😯
Spiders don't worry me much. I work on the theory that you never see them running towards you

Vampire spiders?  A garlic necklace might deter them.
